Looking for free data recovery software?
I'm trying to recover some pics from a SD card.
Can anyone recommend software that would do this for free?
I tried using Virtual lab but you need to pay to save the recovered files.
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately it found nothing, however when I scan with virtual labs it finds the pictures I need, but without paying I can't save them.
Can you or anyone else recommend another alternative?
Cheers

I tried about 10-12 different apps and the one that worked the best was:

Which is convar. Just wanted to make sure you used the 'smart recovery' version that's specific to flash media.
If that doesn't help you you're probably screwed.

Avira Unerase http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/10/a..._personal.html , from the company that makes Avira Anti-Virus. They made it free after discontinuing the commercial product.

I had a problem with my SD card when I was in Las Vegas. Card couldn't be read, it kept saying that I need to format. Bought another card for the remainder of the trip and when I got home, I researched this problem and ended up using:
ZAR recovery and recovered all my pics
