Looking to get a PS4 for Monster Hunter World

Hi all

I am looking for some deal for a PS4 for MH World this coming Friday.

Initially I was going to get a pro but given I don't have a 4k TV (My 10 years old TV said hi here) and having the fear of PS5 being announced this year. I was thinking of picking up a slim

Is there any good deal out there?

Thanks ahead.

There might be some deals over the next 2 weeks to encourage people to buy consoles with TVs for the Superbowl and upcoming Winter Olympics.

It's worth getting the Pro for the smoother game play. The base PS4 hoovers around 26 - 28 fps with noticeable dips occurring in crowded areas or when particle effect heavy attacks go off in groups of 4 (e.g., bow gunners all attacking at once).

Originally I was thinking of getting the SW BF 2 Pro bundle as it came down in price.

But I was a bit concern of the possibility that PS5 being announced this coming Summer?

This summer? Not a chance. They have a very strong market position and have no need to rush their product cycle. On top of that, the US and EU 4K/HDR market is not saturated enough for them to push a major hardware revision. My guess is the earliest we will see a PS5 is Q4 2019 with 2020 being more likely.

Agreed. I still own a 120 Hz 1080p LCD TV (non-LED, light comes from fluorescent tubes), and don't see myself anytime soon upgrading to 4k. I think Sony wants to wait until there's more 4k market saturation, and only then would they announce a PS5 console. Probably a brief glimpse or rumors of the PS5 in 2019, then in 2020's E3 we'll get to see the unit, and by 2020 Q4 (X'mas) it will go on sale. Japan has the Summer Olympics in 2020, so maybe there's a possibility of delaying the release until 2021, but I hope not. And 2022 would be suicide for Sony. My hopes is a 2020 Q4 release, at that sweet spot price of $399.99.
