Looking for inexpensive phone with good performance

Looking for one that is:
- Android (not "Android Go")
- Has enough good performance, no stuttering/sluggishness
- <400$

I'm with Virgin Mobile.

Based on reviews I read, these have bad performance:
Moto G6 Play
LG Q6
LG X power 2
LG 4 (2017)

Galaxy A5 looks ok but is a bit pricey (will need case, accessories, etc)
Moto E5 Play too looks good but has Android Go.

Suggestions? :)

I suggest the A5 or A8. Both can be had for under $400 (well under if you're willing to utilize the Koodo loopholes)
Toronto Maple Leafs tickets for sale. PM me for details

x2 on the A5. Only drawback is the camera doesn't have OIS.

I am a happy user of the Huawei Mate SE 4 Gb /64 . I ordered that from Newegg.ca . It is also available at B&H too. I am hesitant of ordering from the Far East. It may be cheaper or even of better performance. But I would rather have the unit shipped out from N Am
It has tons of storage in the SD slot of 256 Gb (that is a lot of video or MP3s) if you do not use the 2nd SIM

For Moto G6, why only look at the Play variant? There are the regular G6 and G6 Plus. I can't even find what performance problems the Play might have to concern you.

Last year, Amazon and Best Buy were in the habit of, every couple of weeks, putting some model of Moto phones on sale for a substantial discount, but just for one day. I got mine through the USA. Anyway, it's a great way to get a good mid-range phone at a great price.
