Coconut Island Restaurant is not the greatest looking restaurant but the food is very tasty.
It's located at the big Chinese / Asian plaza at Kennedy and Highway 7, next door to a dim sum restaurant (Grand Lake Chinese Cuisine).
I haven't been there for a while, but I really enjoy Coconut Island too.
I'm not sure what authentic Malaysian food is, but everything was always tasty.
The staff are very courteous and friendly as well.
Prices are very affordable too!

Should try Gourmet Garden out in Scarborough. Most of their food is better than Restora Malaysia. The only problem with that place that it looks kinda crummy.
Got the address for Gourmet Garden? I like to check it out. Another good place is Lion City in Mississauga, crazy far for me but worth the trip.

It's not a restaurant so you might have to walk inside to find it. It's on a corner lot.

Bump.
Is there any better place than Restoran Malaysia right now?
In terms of food, portion and ambience.
I'm taking my out of town relatives to Restoran Malaysia, but thought i'd check in and see if there is anything better. I love this place, but it's pretty far out from where i am.
Matahari Grill looks nice, but from the pictures it looks like tiny expensive portions.
The other places like Coconut Island doesn't seem to be a decent sit down place, and more for takeout.
I'm considering this place. http://www.satayontheroad.com/menus.html
Also does anyone know if i can find these in the GTA?

malacca chicken balls.
