IF the buy and sells are of any indication....there's a HUGE exodus away from Canon and Nikon...towards Sony just for this A7...happens every release but this is the most insane exodus i've seen.

Exodus away from Nikon/canon, might as well be.........did not check it myself but this cam for sure is worthy of that.
Ya, but people should stick with native lens and not adapt Canon/Nikon lenses.

or
Is it wiser to buy the OEM ?

Try the Wasabi charger, it's fine for third party brand.

Batteries are iffy when going third-party but chargers don't really matter. I love using USB ones as I can charge on the go with a power bank

Thanks guys.

Have a third party change for a7ii batteries in which the adapter plate comes off.
Saw a similar/same (optimistic) adapter plate for the z100 battery on aliexpress.

Ordered one, hopefully it works. If not, I’ll see.

Guys with a7iii the shutter count tool ............. is it working for you guys. I just tried and took around 10 shots. The shutter count tool says zero.
It does recognize the camera though

Detected Camera model : ILCE-7M3
Shutter actuations made up to file DSC00275.JPG: 0
| | | | Sony_Tag9050_0x0032 = 0
| | | | Sony_Tag9050_0x0033 = 0
| | | | Sony_Tag9050_0x0034 = 0
(65536 * 0) + (256 * 0) + 0 = 0

You using silent shooting?

Silent doesn't register as shutter actuations.

no silent shutter, even the first curtain on/off gives 0 actuations

I guess the online tool is not supporting the newer cams. Tried the RAW digger.....works
Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you, but haven't bit the bullet.
Yet :)

I'll be following this thread for your reviews.

Canon user here for 9 years now but sold all my gear getting ready to transition to Sony mirrorless.
Questions about mining? Interested in having mining rigs made? PM me.

If you have no more Canon gear, jump to the A73, its well worth it.

Plenty of reviews speak for the value of the Sony A7III

Rebel_rfd is right.
I sold all my a-mount gear. Also have the A7II but A7iii is a beast, just going thru video tutorial to learn the Menu features.
Loving it.

I’d say bite the bullet.

A question for all using the a7iii/riii,

I have not been able to find on “How to track af while doing videos at 120fps”.
Face tracking also only works at 60fps.
Even object tracking gets activated just by touch screen at 60fps.
Trying to do some in cam slomo at 120fps and cannot seem to find how to my track my moving subject and/or face.

Thanks

Did you set Focus mode to AF-C?

You might want to grab Gary Friedman's book for the Sony A7 cameras.

I have the A7R3 version of it, very useful. Let me know if you want a copy of it.
