It is in afc mode but like shooting in 60fps, don’t see the square thingy showing the af tracking while on 120fps

Those are the reasons that I'm considering m4/3 system. Are there any situations where you feel bottlenecked by the gear? I'm told some low light scenarios are rather difficult with the m4/3 system, but I personally only shoot occasionally in low light and could probably figure out a way to deal with the slow shutter speeds, etc.

Thanks for the info!
I'm just a very amateur photographer who really hasn't used his gear in more than 2 years. I'm going to be getting back into it but I'm going to move away from m43's because I mostly take pictures of birds and the fast movements with low light are difficult for the gear i have.

That being said, my Panasonic body is pretty old now. Haven't kept up with the gear at all.

I'm about to pull the trigger to a 6DMkII body (on promo with free grip and battery!) and a 24-105 IS - anything i'd be missing with not going mirrorless route? I'm thinking of getting A7 III with the kit lens instead of another Canon.

P.S. I just sold all my Canon gear after using them for 9 years.

If you sold all your Canon gear why would you buy the 6D2?

What do you shoot?

A7III would be the right choice.

By all I mean my T1i (500D), the included kitlens, nifty-fifty, 430EX flash, filters, adapters, batteries and bag.

I would want to go FF route and since i'm starting from scratch gear-wise, i can have the option of buying Canon again or looking at Sony's ship.

I've probably did all the genres of photography but the ones that I like the most are events, travel and landscape.

I think Sony is better since the comprise with the 6D2 is too far too much for your interests.

The A7III will out focus the 6D2 in low light events, lighter for travel so works better for landscape use too.

Thank you for your insight.

I'm just thinking that I might miss out on using UWA lenses and filters doing landscape if I go Sony route.
A 17-40 F4L lens is far cheaper than a comparable G/G Master lens but that's nitpicking.

The 12-24 is a much more affordable option from Sony rhan the Canon equivalent, also weights much less.

The 16-35 and 24-70 GM both use the same filter size, so that's a plus.

@ $2300 the Sony 12-24 is probably the equivalent in price of 16-35 F2.8 IS II in Canon, and i don't plan on buying two-grand lenses just yet.

That's why I referenced the 17-40 F4L in my post as this is only ~ $800 bnew.

A used Canon 17-40L can be had for $500, I used to have one. You probably mean a 16-35 f/2.8 III (price equ to Sony), because I have a used II I paid $1100.

Yes, that's probably it.

And i might just buy new as I use them for quite a number of years so in the end, the price I paid for them is justified.

So it's probably a better bet to invest into Sony.

The 12-24 and 16-35 GM came out last year, while the 16-35 Mark III came out much earlier.

The Mark 2 from Canon uses a different filter size than the 82 found on the Mark 3.

The filter change from 77m to 82mm i'm aware of.

We'll probably see - as there's literally no stocks anywhere I go for Sony A7 III.
And ordering takes 3-4 weeks.

keep calling Henry's , Aden and Vistek. Leave your # with them. Not everyone that orders, picks up. People have also ordered multiple places, so keep calling. It worked for me. I preordered at Henry's but bought at Vistek. They had one spare, I called in and was offered a small time window to come and pickup.
