I know you said you don't want to purchase from the states but just an FYI, you can get the same model for 2299 at Pauls tv near Detroit(they have other locations, and an online store, promo code FALL27). So if you are near the area it might be worth calling them and seeing how they handle returns/warranties for Canadian customers, I'm sure they get plenty consumers from the Windsor area.

It is tempting, but if my calculations are right and taking into account that one will most likely have to pay 13% HST at the border there's not much savings and lots of headache...
((($2300 + 6% MI tax) + 13% ON tax) + 5% US to CAD conversion) = CAD$ 2892.00, say $2900
Rent a VAN at Uhaul as this TV won't fit into SUV or a minivan + 4 hours each way drive from Toronto + gas + food + time = CAD$ 200? 300? priceless?
If you are waived at the border (unlikely) and no problem with the TV (very likely) - great!

yea it really only makes sense if your going down for a trip and can get a huge chunk of the duty fee's taken away from being down there a week - i think though the most is $800 that can be duty free so you would still be paying quite a lot on taxes plus if you do have issues you would need to rent a uhaul again or something to get it across the border for warranty.

anyway hope you find what your looking for cheap and without issues :)
Poor Grammar and being long winded don't fit well together, Oh well.

You're right, less of a deal if you have to rent a vehicle. You can save the american tax if you ship it to NY and use an amerifriend. We'll never see deals as good as what they have in the states on high end large screen TV's. But I would also go to the Golden electronics store, and even Star Electronics (from my experience i got some good deals from haggling with them before, maybe others have some additional suggestions) and seeing if they can bring the price down even further, perhaps a shade under 3000. But even the 3175 you listed would be a great Canadian deal.

Hi

I too am looking at this model. Amazon.com wont ship to Canada on this product. Abe’s of Maine will. (Pauls’ will not )

Abe's of Maine have it for $2385 plus about $100 shipping. FS is at $4000.

I’d like to wait until 2014 but like others am worried about inventory depleting.

Abe's of Maine sounds like a great deal - how are shipping handled and what happens if the unit arrives broken, not working, etc?
Do you have to pay to ship it back?

As many have mentionned, I wouldn't wait either. I was sort of in the same boat lately except I didn't have choice of store as I received a Best Buy gift card. I was hesitating between the Samsung 51f5300 and the Panasonic 50S60. When I started looking around about a month ago there were already no stock left for the Samsung at any Best Buy anywhere around me but on BestBuy's site it said they still had around 50 something for delivery to Quebec. The Panasonic didn't seem to be a problem to have in stock. Fastforward to last week when I finally receive the card, the Best Buy closest to me no longer had any of the S60 in stock but the second closest one had one left!(which now happily sits in my basement!!) As for online, just like the Samsung it said they had around 50 something to ship to Quebec. Before receiving the card I thought about waiting until the holiday specials but when I saw the low remaining numbers I decided not to chance it. It was already $50 off.

My local FS don't even carry this and it would be a special order. I also don't see it listed in the FS or BB BF flyer.

I heard from via the Panny sales rep that there North American inventory on the 65" VT and ZT are 100 and 60 only.
So i ordered the VT60 locally (a small regional chain) for $3400 , subject to BF special pricing protection. Golden Toronto has it for $3298.

FYI Abe's shipping is more than that, I called (their site states that Canadian customers need to call for actual shipping costs) and I was quoted $400 shipping for the 65 inch vt60 via freight to Canada, so take that into account.

Right now the best US deal is 65ZT60 with free shipping to US address from Panasonic.com website.
IMHO, 65Vt60 with $400 shipping and all the headaches is not worth it, better get a local deal at $3200 or so + tax

You wont find the 65" zt60 for that price in Canada.
Since abesofmaine ships to Canada you could try to pricematch $3157.00 + $350 shipping at one of the Canadian stores..

You can get 65VT60 for $3200 or less.
65ZT60 in Canada is about 4k or more, no?
