Looking for Portable Air Conditioner
Thats it! Last night was more then I could handle! I live in a very small room (14' x 14') so I'm looking for the cheapest/smallest BTU portable unit available. Problem is I have one of those "crank" style windows, not a slider, but I'm sure I can come up with some engineering solution.
Anyways please let me know if you guys have seen any deals around lately for a small protable unit. Thanks!

Try Costco.
They usually have a Danby, about $800

I am in the same boat... I want a portable unit but I want it to be as cheap as I can find. Something around $400-$500 or so + tax. I know that FS has a couple options but I am curious if anyone else knows where I should check some out. Costco, Canadian Tire, Zellers, WalMart... anything else?
I'm living in an apartment and may be moving at the end of the summer. My next place will hopefully have AC included so if that's the case I would sell this portable AC unit I am about to buy. Do you think if I pay (for example) $500 + tax for the unit now... use it until Sept... then sell it... could I get around $495 in return then???? Let me know your thoughts...

Portable ones are weaker that expected (in my experience). I have a 220 square foot room and a Danby 9000 BTU portable A/C. No leaks or vents, and it does an "ok" job at cooling my room. I paid $500 at FS + 3yr ($70) extended warrenty.
