Looking for a Windows backup program
I'm looking for a program to do one click 1:1 backups from my boot SSD to a secondary drive. Not looking to use the built in Windows program.
Recommends?

What drive are you backing up the image to? I back up an image of my SSD to a Seagate mechanical drive and I use the Seagate version of Acronis's True Image program. If you are backing up the image to a WD drive, use the WD disk utility.
I really like Acronis True Image because it leaves my SSD's alignment/offset intact when restoring the image. Older versions of Acronis True Image don't always do this.

i use norton ghost 2003 for my backups
once you set up your boot usb key, you can backup/restore partitions, or entire drives

Just use Clonezilla it's free and easy to use. Acronis True Image has become bloated and to complex for people avoid at all cost.

It's complex? I find it very compact, especially the oem versions.
I guess it really comes down to personal preference.
As long as the image does not change the alignment, it's all good.

Does Ghost 2003 changes the alignment when restoring an image to an SSD?

I am curious to hear more about this. I have an SSD and a mechanical drive and would like to create a bootable image on the mech drive. Are you able to boot off your mech drive, or is it just an archive file that's created?

I don't have a bootable image on my mechanical drive. I have an image of my ssd on my mechanical drive. If my ssd becomes infected with a virus, spyware, whatever, I just boot my machine with the Acronis boot DVD and overwrite the ssd with the backup image.
I have a 60 GB ssd drive and, with Win7 and all of my programs, I still have 34 Gb of free space. I do not use virtual memory.

I use and recommend Handy Backup 7, it's the best program for Windows backup I ever used.
