Lost cell phone and contract issue

Last week I lost a HTC touch that I got from bell on a 3 yr contract.
What options do I have?
1) Can I transfer the contract to someone without a phone?
2) Can I have my contract cancelled somehow? Pay a fine?
3) Can I buy an unlocked phone and use that on my existing contract?
4) Is Bell CDMA or GSM..

Thanks

Yes if you can find someone to take a contract having to buy a new phone to go with it.

2) Can I have my contract cancelled somehow? Pay a fine?
Yes it's normally about $20.00 per month left on the contract.

3) Can I buy an unlocked phone and use that on my existing contract?
Normally not.

4) Is Bell CDMA or GSM..

most people just buy a phone at the usual street value, which is something similar to the Retail (NO CONTRACT) price. then they call up bell and do a ESN Swap which I believe costs $25 to put the new ESN on your account. Then you also have to program the handset with the correct min, sid, etc..

3-Bells technology doesn't use the terms locked/unlocked. You'll have to buy a Bell Branded device.
4-isn't it tdma?

your steps should be:
1. talk to bell. talk to retention, see what they can do abt a new phone, or good price plan
2. try and get rid of your plan, something like Giving away my good bell plan +50$ cash incentive + ill pay fees or soemthing similar. Also add how much longer on contract.

TDMA, or "analog" is what Rogers used to use before (with some overlap with) GSM. At one point, Rogers used TDMA with "Digital PCS" service.

Bell is CDMA.
