Low-Flow Showerheads
Hi all,
I'm looking to cut back on water usage by getting a low-flow showerhead. After some research, it appears that the lowest available are:
Does anyone have any experience with either? Am I missing any good options?
I have a few hesitations about these, since their flow is so low. Will they provide a 'good' shower? Will I be happier with a model that has a higher flow, but still less than the 'average' 2.5 gpm?
Both make mention of having adequate water pressure (and the Bricor engineers even emailed me suggesting I buy a pressure gauge, test my pressure and they will customize the unit in the factory). I'm not sure what my current pressure it, but assume it's 'average.' I'd really like to avoid this (both the cost and hassle, as well as buying something I will never use again...)
Thoughts?

Many houses will have a pressure gauge at the point of entry of the town water supply. Perhaps newer homes do not.
Anyways, no idea if 0.5GPM is too low, but why not just go for a regular 2.5GPM unit, or some low-flow 1.5GPM unit, and not run it at full-blast?
And on the topic of whether it'll provide a "good" shower or not will depend on the types of soaps/shampoos you use, as well as the hardness of your local water supply.

Hi HammerRFDer,
Thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately, I'm in an apartment, so have no access to the water main entry point. I think the benefit of a low-flow head is that you can run it at 'full blast' and get enough water to effectively shower, whereas if I used my existing showerhead at 'half blast' it would just be a dribble...

I have this one.

it provides a really nice shower, it's a 1.5 but feels better than my old 2.5 it replaced.
Im not sure how those ultra low flow ones would work, you might be spending a lot more time washing soap from your body.
