For those of you in Mississauga, if you still have your original old compost bin - I find they are perfect containers for storing salt.

Just for a tip. Mix with traction sand (https://kent.ca/18-kg-traction-sand-tube1024247) for a better grip. These bags @ kent go on sale for about 3$. I usually mix a 5 gallon bucket with sand and ice melter and it really makes walking on icy spots better.

Something ate away at the top layer of my concrete porch over the last few years. It could have been this stuff...

But isn't that the only place that needs it to avoid slipping?

This has been safe my concrete as well as the number of families houses that I help out with, found this was the best. Mistakenly put some of the regular salt on one part of my concrete, and got little divets, but never anything with this stuff.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing this with mixing with regular "cheaper" salt for asphalt, so that it would last longer - but this seems better and could be used on concrete without having to having to worry.
