I waited for the call they said was coming to arrange delivery but none came yesterday. Late last night I received a rather cryptic email with a single number as subject that I determined to be my order number that said “Your delivery date has been set for 10/23/18 if this was the first date to come up for your area. if you would like to change the date please call.” The bad grammar is as written. Then there was a long boilerplate that contained the name Lowe’s, so I finally knew it was from them. Three people were CC’d as well.

Others have indicated their order is shipping UPS but I don’t think so in my case. Odd that delivery is almost 2 weeks from now.

Glad that I waited to get some... price now shows as $5.99 Face With Tears Of Joy ... probably pick up a couple of bags.

I've been using this stuff (mixed occasionally with sand) for years... would never put regular road salt down. Salt is very corrosive with concrete. Yes, salt is less expensive but you may end up paying lots more to repair your concrete surfaces (eg. steps). Just my 2 cents (that I saved) Face With Tears Of Joy

Thanks OP!

Yes we do. It's called Rona, Reno-Depot to make us feel special :)
Well, they make us feel special alright.. They have us paying $12.49 & $12.39 for the same bag. It's a special QC pricing :) And since we don't have lowes here, they usually refuse to PM.

I'll wait for HD, they typically have a similar sale early in the season.

thats only partially correct. while there's sodium chloride (ie. salt), its only 1 component of this ice melt. the real active ingredient for melting ice is calcium chloride (which is technically also a salt but much less harmful for pets, plants & soil). the other compound is urea (sodium chloride and urea provide extended melting and resistance to refreezing for hours. which helps to extend the melting).
Yes but as this stuff dissolves, breaks down or whatever it is you want to call it.. you end up with brine soup. Of course its mixed with stuff as normal salt is not effective at our temperatures here... but i feel like theres a lot of marketing propaganda brainwashing people into thinking they are not using salt.

Wat
So some people say it's safe for concrete, others say it's not. Dunno who to believe.
