But that doesn't apply to the sold online only products as you cannot PM online?
Pretty much. They are super strict online. The stores are independently owned so they can bend the rules

Wow this is a really confusing sale. In store you save the tax, except in Alberta, where you save 15%. Online you save 11.5%, except for appliances where you don't save 11.5% but get free delivery. I was so close to buying a freezer because I thought I would save the tax and delivery.

Are you sure about that? It says for appliances the discount is already applied. When I add a fridge to cart and go through checkout the final price is the same as shown on the item page...

Wtf, I just bought $200+ at Lowe's today. I don't see the save the tax promo added. Isn't it supposed to add automatically?!? Do I have to drive all the way back just to get the discount back?

Yes. You have to mention the promo code to get it.

Any luck getting Rona / CT / home Depot to match no tax ?

I bought 89c soil at Rona, but they refused to match Lowe's no tax.

I had to literally argue with Home Depot (e.g. raise my voice) to several people (cashier, her superior, manager, and another cashier) to get the price match and 10% price beat.

I PM'd the no tax event at HD, got 13% off (works out to a better deal). Of course, no extra 10% off (didn't even ask for it).

I think HD is good at PM no tax. My issue was that Lowe's didn't have the item that Rona was selling.

Btw, Does Rona ever match these no tax promotions?

Talked to them today. They could've refunded me on the phone, but I paid partly in cash, so I have to go back to the store.

It was because I used self checkout, it didn't auto apply the discount for me. What a dumb POS system.

PMd some items at Home Depot for the 12% off plus the 10% price beat. Got a drill and some bits for dirt cheap.

Abbotsford location.

Had HD price match for Weber Genesis E310. They gave me 12% off which I'll take as Weber rarely goes on sale. They also had free assembly and delivery so pretty happy.
Popped by Rona to try and buy it and they shut me down right away. Not sure how they stay on business. Although I thought I read somewhere that Lowe's bought Rona.

Lowes did buy Rona
I wish there were more Lowes than rona in greater Vancouver. There's only 1 in new west, but a bunch of ronas around. I like the selection at Lowe's more
