Mobi and wind are going to be the cheapest.. The catch is you get what you pay for as in service is not that great..
Have a look at City Koodo for $35... They are owned by telus and use telus towers...

Lowest priced would be $20 from Mobilicity if you prepay for a year ($25 if you go month by month) and $25 a month from Wind.

cheapest is public mobile @ 19.00 a month.
for being an underdog in the AWS spectrum they seem to be doing the best in terms of profit @ 27.00 ARPU.
their coverage is getting better and from when i tested their phone service it was actually the clearest quality i had ever heard from a canadian provider.
i am not with them but i do think their current wal mart promo is pretty dope.
38.88 for a phone and 2 months of unlimited talk, text and data.
if all your do is talk consider giving them a try.
as for wind. i am with them now and i am happy for what i pay. but i wont lie i wish their coverage was not so spotty.
and building penetration could be better.
mobi....was just an absolute nightmare for me when i had them. i would not recommend them at all.
i came from rogers so comparison to the new guys for me was a big one. if you wanna try the payasyougo thing speakout is pretty good too.Last edited by infamouskid; Feb 12th, 2012 at 09:47 PM.

they are using CDMA2000 1xRTT on the PCS G band.
same tech as sprint in the states. public is planning to move to lte very soon as well.
and with the amount of cash they have and financial credit line from the chinese they will outlast mobi easily.
they only spent around 50 million at the AWS auction and got a huge chunk in G band.
compared to what wind and the other paid this is nothing.
looks like the canadian version of metorpcs and cricket.
good tactic. buy cheap spectrum. deploy cheap hardware.
target people who want to save. you know the cheap ppl at walmart and dollarstores. lots of those around.
sell oldschool cheap technology phones for rudiculous prices and profit. get base client pool.
bust out with cutting edge tech and offer unlimited everything under 45 bucks. hope to get bought out by next wireless spectrum auction or buy more g band spectrum liscenses in other regions and expand until your the next sprint or clearwire or verizon.
still wouldn't buy from them but it is a good strat.Last edited by infamouskid; Feb 13th, 2012 at 05:21 AM.

You're best option imo would be City Koodo with a good service/reception. As for Chat R/Public, not too sure as I have never used them.
Rogers and Bell don't offer unlimited plans period.
Good luck._______________

Ah did not know. Have you looked into the Vonage or Dell Voice voip app? I know Dell voice has free canada calling in most cities. You can look up the thread here for more info:

Of course you would need a phone in order for it to work haha._______________
