Loyalty programs

What are some good loyalty/reward programs that you would recommend people get? Sort of like the "must haves"? Joining every single one -like some people I know- doesn't hurt, but I'd rather not do that

So far I only have SCENE cause of the 2 free movies thing a while back lol.

From what I've read around here Optimum seems to be the best? Don't shop there much though. Also, I really want to get Airmiles, cause where I work a lot of people who spend $100's don't have airmiles and sometimes I can't help but think "what a waste" must be my inner RFDer...I can see myself asking every customer who doesn't use it if I can have their airmiles

Anyways, back to my main question. I also would like to know to those that are with any loyalty program, how useful are they to you? Are the stuff you can redeem worth it/what you want/useful, etc. Basically how much did they benefit you, and how useful are they in general.

Just looking for some opinions since I don't know much about any of them at all. Thanks.

Privacy is not a waste. Airmiles allows marketers to track not only your purchases but your movements and your life. This electronic record lives forever and will follow you the rest of your life and will be combined with data from other sources to destroy any hint of privacy. Who knows how that data will be used. It's hard enough to maintain any privacy these days without helping the marketers out. If nothing else, Airmiles is going to get you on every marketing and spam list in creation.

Paranoid much?

I have had Airmiles for years and I rarely get spammed.

Airmiles is the least of your worries as far as privacy is concerned. Anyone that concerned with privacy woul dbe completely off the grid and definitely not on the computer cuz someone out there has a way of finding out all the porn sites we've all visited

Anyway loyalty programs, Airmiles is always good to have. I don't use mine much because I dont shop at a lot of places that carry airmiles. I also have the AMEX AIRMILES CC which I use only at Costco.

I use my Aeroplan the most and I've already had 2 roundtrip flights spend from it. Use it in conjunction with the Aeroplan Visa ($29/yr). I use this in conjunction with the Sobeys points card. (You can use sobeys pts ($1/pt) for either in-store cash savings or you can have them converted to Aeroplan points at 2 pts/aeroplan point which is equivalent to $2/aeroplan pt.) Using that and the Aerplan Visa (also $2/point) works it self to be $1/point.

Couldn't you just put your name as "Bob" or some Initial?

Mines in my name, as I'm not really worried about it.
