it doesnt matter if it is 1 day after the warranty or one year, if they warrenty is passed, it passed, they have to draw the line somewhere. what is the deal with the OP wanting special treatment, the OP is the worse kind of customer there is, apple and it's shareholders like myself DO NOT want needy poor desperate customers like the OP.

if the OP wants a mac so badly, buy another mac (if you can afford it LOL).

+1. There is no doubt that any laptop with the nVidia 8xxx mobile chip wll fail, the question is when it will fail.

Having a defective product from the very start and wanting the manufacturer to address the issue has nothing to do with being rich or poor.

Ya it does have the dreaded nVidia videocard failure. I was 3 months out of the 4 year warranty extension. Apple refused to help. Such nonsense. If there was an engine design flaw in a car, would Honda say "well... we've decided that if the flawed design lasts you 4 years, then you got your money's worth and we're off the hook."

I have an iPad2, 2x iPhone's in the home, a MacBook Pro (dead now) and a MacBook.... you'd think they'd do something for me.

So let me get this straight - applecare is 3 years. You did not say whether or not you purchased it yet apple had extended the nvidia replacement/fix program to 4 years regardless of applecare (fact). And it's unreasonable for them to say no?

I dont think many, if any, manufacturers will cover past 3 years.... flaw or no flaw. People pull the brand loyalty card too much until they get bit and then it's "never again", so much for loyalty.

Yep, they would. Worse yet, they wouldn't tell you about it when your car is under warranty so they wouldn't have to cover it. Honda makes ***** cars and they don't stand behind their own admittedly 'defective' parts. In my case, my rear control arms on my '06 Civic that were defective from the factory and Honda wants $600 to fix them. Defective on ALL '06 and '07 Civics and CSXs. Just lost 2 customers for life (sister has the same problem on her '07 CSX).
