MacBookPro HD Optical Caddy - Local places to buy in Toronto? ATAPI - SATAII
Does anyone know a local place to buy an Optical Caddy for the MacBook Pro (Mid 2009)
The MCE and Optic bay are still relatively expensive, was hoping to avoid shipping cost and grab it locally in Toronto.
The optical caddy goes in the super drive area, there is a ATAPI connect to an adapter so you do need a caddy with an suitable adapter.

what kind of price are you looking to pay? I just bought via MCE directly and installation was soo simple. there's a coupon code I use that gave me 10% off.. I think it's Cheer2012. but simply google it.

50 dollars plus shipping, I was thinking more a long the line of a no name brand caddy, maybe those asian computer stores might have one. Was wondering if anyone know a place. Thanks for the coupon, tho 10% off does make the deal sweeter.

lol, is it worth saving 10 dollars more to shop for non-name brand? I ordered it and got the package for under a week. I'm very impressed with it because it also came with instruction and software as well as tools.
installation was soo easy a monkey could do it.
mine also came with external dvd enclosure which came in handy right away as I needed to install OSX due to disc corruption.
anyway, I think it's worth the future hassle.

You calling me a monkey now?
I think I might be able to construct my old caddy, I just can't find the MicroSATA to SATA adapter. I'm not even sure if it's MicroSATA or Mini SATA, also some sites list the connection as ATAPI.
Sooo very confusing.
