Anyone know if it's normal that my package is taking that much time and there is like no update, the package left Japan for a almost a month (EMS shipping method, not supposed to take that long):
(From the Canada Post website)

2018/05/02 12:20 JPTYOH, Japan International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada
2018/05/01 10:19 JPTYOA, Japan International item processed in originating country
2018/04/30 22:22 1438799, Japan International item mailed in originating country

So should I just wait and not be worried about it ? The package is pretty expensive and I'm scared that it's lost, since there is like no update on it

EMS from Japan usually takes a few business days. I would be worried if it takes more than 2 weeks... you should ask the seller to file an investigation.

Yea I did, they told it will take weeks to a few months. But I'm pretty sure the package is here somewhere in Canada, EMS usually like a 1 day flight to get here and it's been a month already.

Has anyone noticed that CBSA has been faster at processing unregistered parcels from China lately?

I've been getting a few parcels in 4 weeks recently.

I'm still waiting on a package from Europe (Finland) at close to two months now. I have to assume that one is lost. I don't think I've ever had a package from Europe take longer than 4 weeks.

Does the tracking number starts with E********? EMS usually starts with 'E'. And it should be properly tracked when it gets to Canada. I think you should follow up already and insists to start the investigation. 2 weeks is a reasonable time to wait and see if there are updates in tracking (for EMS) and since there's none, investigation should start.

The number start with EL, which is EMS. And how do I start an investigation, with CP or the CBSA ? Thanks!

Things have slowed to a crawl for me. Under $30 items from HK and Cali over 2 months and nothing yet. I don’t want to make a claim from sellers because I’ve never had a package ever go missing. This is the longest ever though. Normally it’s around 4 weeks.

Other than those, had one recently from singapore that took almost 6 weeks ($60) and a couple from us at 5 weeks.

You can ask CP as they might be able to provide more specific instructions but usually they'll just also tell you that the sender (seller) needs to initiate the investigation on their side.

I might had the funniest tracking

2018/03/25 22:29 RICHMOND, BC Item processed
2018/03/24 18:51 RICHMOND, BC Item has arrived in Canada and was sent for further processing.
2018/03/20 02:37 AUSYDS, Canada International item has been forwarded onwards to destination
2018/03/13 17:22 USLAXA, USA International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada
2018/03/12 11:38 90717, USA International item mailed in originating country

the parcel sent from US and it went to Australia, then re-entered from BC. I live in GTA.
Mine is doing that now.. shame to see that it doubles the delivery time as I was taking the hit on import taxes by getting it sooner rather than during my next travel to the US. I called Canada Post to confirm the delivery address and question the Australia detour but they just shrugged at the latter, saying it may take some time but it will eventually be delivered

Have an e-packet that's a few days short of 60 days in transit. Paid extra shipping for the luxury of waiting for 2 months. I thought e-packets were supposed to be faster...

Just had an envelope shipped from France for 5,80 EUR (CAD$8.80).

Shipped on Friday June 1st, sent as Xpresspost within Canada and received PM June 4th.

WTF Canada Post. I can't even send a Prepaid Xpresspost ($12.35 for a prepaid) across the street for that price.

Xpresspost Canada to France would cost me $68...
Are you sure you wish to carry out this operation? You betcha.
