I'm holding off on purchasing through Japan. Will wait until EMS is no longer suspended.
I hope you get your package soon.

I hope my item from the US doesn't sit too long in customs.
June 3 1:40 pm International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada

Thanks! Package from Japan actually came today. Surface mail, shipped March 6th arrived June 8th so about three months. I think Japan even stopped surface mail to Canada so the only options now are courrier (FedEx, DHL) and we all know how great they are about fees and customs Face With Rolling Eyes

Even better news... just got a notice that CP rates are going up AGAIN in September, later in January if you are a business customer. I guess it's a license to steal when so many people are doing e-commerce nowadays.

All shippers have slowed down... there's too much volume and they'll have to expand to handle it all. Nobody can predict if it will stay that way, however.

My package shows it has arrived in Canada may 15, but not scanned for customs checking yet. Not sure if waiting to be cleared or lost.
Funny thing is another package I ordered after this one arrived today, also epacket delivery. Neutral Face

Aliexpress standard can ship UBI smart parcel or Epacket. UBI is using Canada Post tracking numbers so you can either track at UBI or parcelsapp. Canada Post tracking wont update until its handed off in Canada. Tracking number should be all numeric starting with 4. Epacket will start with L but tracks in China with Canada Post.

Just bought something from Japan.

$11 CAD. Shipped by SAL.

I just checked JPN Post, SAL is suspended?

If it does clear, does Canada Post get these shipments. Hopefully not Fedex or DHL?

After sitting for a month with no movement, my package finally got scanned and now presented to Canada customs for inspection.
Seems like a long time for quarantine.

Good luck. It normally takes 2-3 months for post to arrive from the UK IME. It’s ridiculously slow.

It's like what I imagine overseas mail was like 150 years ago.

Mine is that Canada Post is raising rates yet again due to the rising cost of warehouse storage.

Runner-up...
Joe: "Did you know that Canada Post has gone on strike?"
Fred: "How can you tell?"

I've been reading through all the replies, and it's disheartening to see how hit or miss CBSA is. I have had a package waiting at Mississauga CBSA since June 25th, and nothing since. I paid $50USD to get this package here in 3 days, CP simply shrugs and says oh well can't help. Does anyone have any input or insight on what the delay is? Strangely I have other packages going through Mississauga in less than a day, from the same origin in HK. So I am at a loss as to why this package is just sitting in CBSA for no reason. Tracking below:

June 25
1:50 pm Item has been presented to Canada Border Services Agency for customs review. Mississauga, ON
1:19 pm Item has arrived in Canada and will be presented for review. Mississauga, ON
1:19 pm Item has been presented to Canada Border Services Agency for customs review. Mississauga, ON

June 18
8:45 pm International item processed in originating country Hkhkgb, Hong Kong
8:45 pm International item mailed in originating country Klnspt, Hong Kong
9:10 pm International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada Hkhkga, Hong Kong

Any hope of this not being a lost package?

Thanks for any help or hope.

Possibly got singled out randomly or in a patch under further investigation.

Looks like your plans took a left turn right from the get go …
As June 18th to June 25th = 7 Days / 1 Week

Some of the delays … here & abroad are related to Covid
Be it the entire system playing catch up due to backlogs
Or still dealing with the issues in regards to lack of flights etc

And … you chose POST vs COURIER

If something is truly needed ASAP
You need to opt for a Courier
Not “pony express”

Couriers cost more for a reason
Not just dedicated shipping (the big guys having their own planes … FedEx, UPS, etc)
But also they’ll broker your parcel thru Customs

But all that comes in at a much higher cost
To pay for the extra manpower / designated services that Courier Cos get from CBSA

And now folks, more delays in the forecast: Border workers vote to strike, putting Canada's reopening plans at risk
The two unions representing more than 8,500 Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) employees announced this morning that the majority of their members have given them a strike mandate...

Many border workers would be deemed essential — but the union said strike action could slow down commercial traffic at the border and ports of entry, hit international mail and parcel deliveries from Canada Post and other major shipping companies, and disrupt the collection of duties and taxes on goods entering Canada.
