Make $ in valentimes instead of loosing $
For few years I worked at a restaurant, where valentimes was the bussiest day of the year. I saw hundreds of guys bringing their dates and dropping hundreds of dollars on a dinner for 2. Crazy if you ask me, someone who collects buy 1 get 1 free coupons for dinner
Anyways, my gf learned that I was not able to go see her until i was done my shift at work late at night and she was ok with this. Valetimes means nothing really, is a day like any other, just that flowers go up on price, dollar stores sell heart shapped useless items and malls go nuts with teddy bears, chocolates
and ballons.
If you love your mate, you should love each other every day, not just in valentimes or anniversary. Just keep a heatlhy relationship every day not just in special ocassions and it'll work out better.
What's the point on taking a date out on an expensive dinner once a year ? Unless she's not your bf/gf and you're looking to hook up, then sure... expensive start but hey... breaks the ice.
Even performances at theatres go up on price that day as well (and they get sold out quickly), believe or not call 416-872-1212 or 1-800-461-3333 Royal Alexandra on King St. Hey why not ?
We used to jack up our prices big time as well, sorry you don' like it ? too bad, next on line please. What you don't have reservation ? Try coming back after 10pm then. Yes you need reservation, we've been fully booked for weeks !! OMG that was so much fun, watching poor lost souls couples on their first valentimes together walking out for these reasons or after realizing the overpriced set menues, haa haa !

well that's they key of the question
work as a waiter, bartender or banquet hall that day
organize a couples party and charge cover
sell roses on the street
scalp theatre tickets at work
buy watches, pink ipods or others on ebay and resell them locally to friends who don't know what to buy their bf/gfs
be ingenious, there's lots of things 2 do

brent how about losing ? (sorry for extra "o")
i see some of you really pay attention, hee hee
as ArmedWithATude and ECHO-RUMOUR said and i cannot agree with them more
going out and dropping hundreds of dollars in a dinner = losing $
it's just a bad investment, when you can cook something good
or go to a hotel or out of town or park like they mentioned
going to a restaurant is just the easy solution
they treat you bad, they give you a table behind washroom, on top of chimeny beside kitchen or anywhere else they can throw one, hoping you eat and leave fast so they can flip it again
but hey, what do i know ? this is just the inside experience from me and few other restaurant owners and waiters i've met through the years...
just that it's all so comercial those days that the real meaning is lost
