March Break (March 14-22) all-inclusive vacations

Hello,
I am planning on surprising my husband with a vacation after a very difficult year for us. We have never been anywhere more than a few hours away from home but dream about travel often. Because my husband is an educational assistant, we would need to travel during March Break (I'm sure I could convince his principal to let him go a day early or come back a day late if needed) and I'm assuming everything is going to be a lot more expensive and crowded at this time. I'm hoping to spend no more than $2,500 for both of us as I have only been able to save 2000 and don't think I'll be able to save too much more before March.

Has anyone done any all-inclusive vacations during the march break or is booking this year and would like to share information? I am a complete beginner when it comes to all of this so any information would be appreciated. I have seen some very informative posts from prior years but am hesitant to book anything before verifying everything with someone more experienced, especially since I am not sure if it is best to book now or wait for a last-minute...if there are any last minute deals for march break?

Thank you!!!

Use tripcentral.ca

Don't assume you can get him the time off, especially if working in the education system. If you're booking for a day before and/or after, make sure you get confirmation for the days off, before you pay.

It's cheaper to go on Mon. Mar. 16, rather than Sat. or Sun March 14 or 15. But the AI resorts are getting booked up. Your best bet is Cuba for your price. You might find something in DR or Mexico if leaving Mon., Mar. 16.

It is peak travel time during March break so it is usually $$$ and don't count on any last minute deals.

I really don't care where we go. As long as it's relatively clean, there's a nice beach and we can tour around outside the resort a little, we'll be happy. I'll make sure taking a day off is okay before I book it, absolutely. It looks like there aren't many places with decent reviews for my price range but I really can't spend more than $2500 for a weeks vacation. Hopefully something will pop up or someone posts about a great deal somewhere.
