MarcusFox: Bad Trader (Lies and Sells for Profit)!

Intel Matx DG33TL Mainboard NIB. I bought this for a friend that desided to back out at the last moments. $110 shipped Great board.

There is a story to this board. It was originally owned by sassysue (a RFD member). Several weeks ago, MarcusFox PM'ed me and asked me to sell him my BNIB Intel DG33TL board I had for sale. He asked me to beat the lowest retail price (including shipping) by at least $20. The lowest price found was $128 + taxes + shipping so I offered it to him at $105 shipped. That's when the lies began. He then told me that sassysue was selling one for $85 shipped -- eventhough, sassysue had it for $100 in his thread. I said I wouldn't match that price.

In the meantime, MarcusFox is PM'ing sassysue and telling him that I am willing to sell him my DG33TL for $85 shipped. My lowest price was $100, and sassysue agreed to sell it to him for $90 shipped (might have been $85 in the end).

I know this because sassysue and I began contacting each other after I suspected MarcusFox was lying about the prices. Sure enough, he did lie to both of us. Now, he is selling the same board for profit in this forum. He does a lot of buying and selling from all the forums (Anandtech, [H]ard, and RFD). There is no doubt in my mind that he lowballs/lies to people to get a cheaper price, then tries to sell the stuff for profit on a different forum or at a later time as to not get caught.

I sold him the product he was like 75.00 shipped i was like no im firm on the 85.00 price a true warning to all out there that hes a complete liar man this guy keeps on having bad issues and bad times here in rfd maybe he should be suspended for selling for profit?

I remember somebody posted a cautionary thread about him a while back regarding refurbished hard drives. I see he sells a lot of good items but I've become very wary about dealing with him he doesn't seem like a trustworthy seller. Buyer beware I guess...

Sorry MarcusFox --> It was MarcusXP, a friend of Jock who was selling Seagate HDDs and lots of RFDers joined in to explain what constituted "NEW" vs. "Sealed" vs. "Recert" and used. It was an eye-opener to hear MarcusXP's response.

I dont' care if someone flips my items. I sold it off and moved on...however, you're saying MarcusFox deceived & played both of you in his favour then everyone should air out their differences here. It's not illegal but I understand how someone may feel cheated.

how about a freindly reminder first before the negitive feedback??

all you guys had to say was that you had a problem with it we could have discussed this im pms and resolved this peacefully.

but now your going around running negitive feedback witch is totally un called for in my mind.

I have dealt with both sassysue and Mark009 in the past both have lowballed me many of times and one has even went as far to black mail me for money... from a QX6700 I bought from him to we remember that Mark. How did he put it... Neutral feedback for asking to many questions??? you must be from BC

It's the lying that you did to purchase the board that has become the issue. It's the lying that makes you a bad trader. To me, it's also the $300 offer on a $1000 CPU and the fact that you never properly read any of my PMs (during our QX6700 deal) to you until it was too late. You should have never sent any money, but when you did you sent the wrong currency and/or amount. Good traders don't do that either.

If you want to sell the board for $110, I am sure the mods will allow all of us to keep reminding prospective buyers that it can be had for $85 or less (as you have demonstrated). It's bad enough that you lowball for your own use, but when it's for the sole purpose of being able to flip an item for a profit you are breaking unwritten rules here.

And for you leaving me bad feedback i shipped it out but then after i shipped out the board mark contacted me and saying that u were telling him i got a board that's cheaper and basally used us, if i knew this in the first place i would not deal with you i hope your selling days here at rfd is done!

Were any of you forced to sell the board to him?
Did you contact each other before you sold the motherboard to confirm what he was claiming? You obviously knew each other had the same mobo..as you had contacted each other after the fact.

Yes I agree he did "play" both of you..but I know that whenever I get lowballed or get some ridiculous claim of someone selling something for less ...I check others prices..
And as I said before...reselling for a profit is a very common practice on here..I don't do it..but I know A LOT of long standing members do it..in fact I was looking at a few this morning..so u can't point the finger at one and cry foul.
Like I said..I am in no way defending him..I am tired of seeing this being done also..You find a good deal and fully intend to use the item yourself and someone else picks it up before u....but with no intention to use it ..but to resell it for profit

As for mark I have nothing to say to you, you have tryed to rip me off once already you could have been honist and refuned my money... but you did not you made me pay the additional $280 and refused to refund me. "but" this is in the past I took the neutral and moved on maybe I should have blowin it up in a thread like this but im not a whiner by nature so it doesnt work out for me.

But neither was offering the product for $85...you were price matching what you wanted - not what they were offering.

And if you wanted to lowball Mark009, then why did you buy from sassy? Cuz in the end, she's the one u deceived.
