I would say that makes sense if the film wasn't made in IMAX although generally IMAX greatly enhances the movie theatre experience.

This film will be shot completely in IMAX so it will be worth it. Your just one of the people who think certain features don't enhance movies and its price gouging. In most cases, yes, but in this case, they have a valid reason to ask IMAX pricing.
Even better - it sounds like the next film will be shot in 2D!
First, directors Anthony and Joe Russo will try out a new, lighter 2D digital camera from IMAX and Arri to shoot 15 minutes of Captain America: Civil War. Then, they'll plan the Infinity War movies around the IMAX camera.
Perhaps the producers will be satisfied with just taking the IMAX premium and not need to charge the 3D premium this time out. If true; what a lucky break for viewers who won't have to suffer through the vastly inferior 3D presentation!

Here's an interesting observation/coincidence about the known Infinity Stones that have shown up in the MCU.

The stones that have shown up so far all spell out the name Thanos.

T = Tesseract

H = ?

A = Aether

N = ?

O = Orb

S = Scepter

Beyonce rumoured to be in Infinity Wars.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/4493 ... vie-marvel
A senior executive at movie distributor Disney said: “We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalogue of comic book characters.”

Among those being considered are…

● Boom-Boom: The alter-ego of Tabitha Smith, a secret agent with the ability to create lethal plasma bombs with her mind.

● Blink: A superheroine who can teleport herself and others anywhere.

● Tigra: A cat-like crime-fi ghter with superhuman strength, speed and agility.

● Hawkeye: An expert in combat, including sword-fi ghting, archery and jujitsu.
Yes, Hawkeye as in Jeremy Renner's character...

67 characters.... The scale of this story looks so big that I am waiting for them to announce it will be a trilogy instead.

Everybody Calm Down, Avengers 3 Won’t Actually Have 67 Characters
Civil War and Infinity War directors The Russo Brothers learned a valuable lesson about literally people take things on the internet.

Alan Silvestri announces a return to Marvel scoring

http://www.alansilvestri.com/news-alan- ... ii-123.htm

I think I heard some of his Avengers theme (probably the only Marvel theme/cue I can hum/whistle from memory) in Civil War but I could be mistaken
I miss recognizable themes/cues in these Marvel movies like John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner used to do in their work but I guess that kind of scoring is corny these days.
