Really looking forward to seeing it opening weekend. It's going to be an amazing weekend. Not only because of the movie, but the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao boxing match on May 2. Can't wait for the month of May to come any sooner! :D

Still have to see 2 more movies before May 1st. before I can redeem my 1000 Scene Points and use it for Scotiabank's IMAX theatre. For my first impression of the movie I won't substitute and see it any other way for Round 1.

I've already seen Furious 7. Any other good Cineplex movie suggestions? I still need 2 more picks before I can redeem my IMAX ticket for the Avengers sequel.

Bah, maybe I'll save my 1000 Scene points for the new Star Wars movie in the IMAX theatre in December. LOL

The scene is fake for 1 reason.

It rolls after the end of the credits (the logos you see are generally the last line of text in credit rolls.
Joss Whedon stated he only did 1 extra scene in the mid credit section so people dont have to wait 15 minutes for it. That means the movie finishes -> animated credits start -> "special scene" -> real credit roll begins

Variety opines it's as good as the first

Most of the time if you go into something with expectations unchecked, they will never meet those standards.

People should be open this is really the movie that sets-up the rest of the universe (unlike the first one which was a culmination of events).

At the end of the day though, sit down and relax and the movie will be great.

Seems reviews are mixed but moreso because of the hype Marvel created than the movie itself. Im still excoted to see it but as woth most Marvel movies my expectations are kept realistic in the fact that this is a blockbuster superhero movie nothing more

Its not "deeper" than the first avengers, but its slightly darker. Thats all there is to it really. In this one the team is assembled already, there's some in-fighting if you will (team problems as youd expect) and they save the day again, but at a cost. Cue in civil war foreshadowing (cap vs iron man), and thats the bones of the movie.

If you liked marvel movies before, this one is one of the better ones, and definitely not as poor as iron man 2, or 3, or thor 1 for that matter. Go in with superhero comic book movie expectations and you'll have fun. Go in expecting The Shawshank Redeption and you'll be disappointed, lol.

Shouldn't Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver be in Xmen First class?

?

Fox only used Quicksilver and only in DoFP. This Ultron movie is a Marvel movie and has nothing to do with the Fox X-Men ones.

Probably won't watch this in theatres. The last 30 minutes of The Avengers felt like a Transformers movie with the over the top action.

Yeah I like the more "personal" feeling Marvel movies like the origin story ones.

We just saw this last night as it just opened here in the UK. Well, I'm not really a big fan of the Avengers and I just thought the first one was meh. This is no exception. While the dialogue can be great (typical of Joss Whedon films), I just feel like I couldn't connect with the movie --unlike The Guardians of the Galaxy which was one of my favorite movies from last year. CGI, special effects, and all that jazz were great, but there's something missing. It isn't something I would want to watch again even if they show it on TV a few years from now.

Guardians has more chemistry between actors. Avengers is a bit of a mishmash, and more than half the actors in it are what i consider fluff actors, not capable of much depth of character (especially with shortened screen time).

This movie's already made $200M worldwide as it's opened in many foreign territories already. US/Canada this weekend and China later on in May.

i just heard that when the movie comes out on dvd/bluray there will be an extended cut and an alternate ending. the movie in theaters is 141 minutes long, joss whedon shot a 3 hour + cut when filming. so who knows how much of that will make it onto a a dvd/bluray cut.

I actually wouldn't mind a 3 hour movie lol

So I'm going to see it in AVX for reserved seating, should I upgrade to IMAX folks?
