1. Maxtor is a brutal brand. Industry LOW @ only 1 year warranty.
2. Sorry, not a hot deal, these drives SHOULD be dirt cheap anyways.
3. Canada Computers has a 200GB SATA SeaGate Barracuda 7200RPM for only $113 right now (IN STORE only, it's still listed as $140 on the site.. I was there yesterday at the Mississauga store), which is the industry HIGH @ a whopping 5 YEAR WARRANTY.

Yes, it will work. Before SATA came out PATA was referred to as just "ATA" or "IDE".
