Maxtor 160GB, 7200RPM 8MB $99.00 (no mail ins)
This is a Quebec computer store chain, so not %100 certain if they ship out of province. I normally purchase items directly in store so not sure how much their shipping charges are.
Deal ends today, April 11th.
Maxtor 160Gb 7200RPM 8Mb
$99.95/Unit

(Yes the site is normally in french, so there are a lot of spelling mistakes on the english site)

The regular OEM price for this drive is $103. It doesn't sound like that good a deal unless you can get a PM rebate.

staples won't PM OEM drives. How many computer stores have you seen selling retail drives.

1. Maxtor is a brutal brand. Industry LOW @ only 1 year warranty.
2. Sorry, not a hot deal, these drives SHOULD be dirt cheap anyways.
3. Canada Computers has a 200GB SATA SeaGate Barracuda 7200RPM for only $113 right now (IN STORE only, it's still listed as $140 on the site.. I was there yesterday at the Mississauga store), which is the industry HIGH @ a whopping 5 YEAR WARRANTY.Last edited by duckdown; Apr 11th, 2005 at 11:44 AM.

Apr 11th, 2005 03:47 PM #11An excellent question. PATA is Parallel ATA or a HDD that uses a standard IDE Cable.

Apr 11th, 2005 04:15 PM #12So like an ATA? If my mobo is ATA133 compatible, PATA will work?

Yes, it will work. Before SATA came out PATA was referred to as just "ATA" or "IDE".
