Maxtor external drive - failure
I tried to use the max power utility to check the drives integrity.... but it does not see the usb maxtor? Is there a usb version or another way?
I am trying to save this drive for a friend, took about 12 hours to check disk, and a few to defrag... but it did.... finally. So I think saving his data is ok. I wanted to write 00000s to it and see if I can bring her back
or to see if it gives me an error code, thx all_______________

nope, i let the scan disk run for 20 hours, ran it again...
then it would finally let me defrag (which took forever)
virus scan etc
then I backed up the music and formatted the drive (that also was harder then usual) lol
now it works like a charm
man I love computers...._______________
