Yes, do your due diligence for PPI. Your mechanic should report back to you on what item(s) you may be needing to replace soon/short term. He should also check whether the car has any body damage and repaired done that may be questionable and do get a carproof report too to validate what the dealer has advertised.

If those tires & brakes needing replacement within 1 yr time and there is nothing more (expensive) to replace, then I say the car is worth around $12,500 + taxes at most.

Here is a quick example I just did on a 2018 Mazda 3 sport GS - MSRP $22,900

48 months lease
0% interest
41.50% residual (per Mazda.ca)
$0 down
20,000km per year
option to buy it out at end $9503.50 + taxes
$850 Sept factory lease credit
Assumed 4% dealer discount of MSRP
$1980 fees rolled into lease payment

Projected monthly - $283.50 + taxes OTR

Carproof is shown as clean for the vehicle, you can see it at the attached link. I've checked unhaggle for 2017 Mazda 3 Sport GS. The invoice price is $21060, mandatory fees are $1835. If I add another 3% of invoice and freight as a dealer margin, then subtract $1850 as rebates ($1350 financing rebate + $500 first time owner rebate), add 13% HST, the total for the car would be $24557. It would be awesome if I could qualify for 0% APR for 60 months, but I'm not sure if that's realistic.

well, you never know until you give it a try. But you have to find out who has the leftover 17 first.

Jeff, would 2018 CX-5 diesel come at the same time as regular 2018 CX-5? Any word on when official Canadian pricing / specs will be released for both? Contemplating whether to pull the trigger on 2017, but current incentives are not very good, might as well wait for 2018 model.
I've read that the 2018 CX-5 Diesel is going on sale in US on Oct 1, 2017.

You aren't going to find a 2017 Mazda3 at this point, unhaggle should have removed it by now.

As Bobble mentioned currently the lease works out to be better than a cash/finance in the end... and with $8000 almost anyone can get approved.

I drive a 2017 3 GS with navigation and tinted windows from dealer, and I added the extended warranty for an extra 2 years because I drive ~50,000km a year. This brings my bumper to bumper warranty to 5 years (same as powertrain) with no mileage limit. I financed and put $0 down. My bi-weekly payment is $197.81 for 60 months, in Ontario.

Hope this info helps someone shopping. Good luck.

When should we expect the new Mazda3 with Skyactiv-X ?

I read conflicting reports online ranging from late 2018 as a 2019MY to late 2019 as a 2020MY

Thanks!

Would buying a 7 or 8 year extended warranty extend the unlimited km power train coverage?

Jeff,
Do you have a timeline for the 2018 Mazda CX 5 / Mazda6?
