You don't have to transfer any balances to MBNA. It's your call. If you simply want to take the cash advance, that is your prerogative.

If your credit limit is $10,000 then you will do a balance transfer for about $9900 since you need room for the $99 fee.
Also the 1% is tax deductible if you are using ALL the money for investing.
how can u prove to CRA that u've used ALL that money for investing?

Keep a copy of a statement showing that you transferred all of the money into an investment account.

Just keep all records so you can prove the money trail if you need to.

I received my card and it is a FRENCH card... the access code BODX must be for the french one...
but they are sending me a new one and with a 15k credit limit instead of 10k.
I guess I'll be writing off $148.51 instead of $99...

Did you phone MBNA? or applied online? If you phoned them, didn't they check in your file if there was a record of a letter sent to you to apply for this 0% offer? what did you tell them?

I phoned the number and gave the priority code provided here at RedFlagDeals and that was it. I also gave the info to a friend of mine and he applied last night and was also given the 0%.

What's wrong with these people at mbna? The first person i talked to would say simply no to any questions not a bit of politeness.
The second one would not give me any details until he had all my info.
Anyone else have the sam experience?

Yes, they are not very polite. First, I thought this was some kind of scam, but after calling the 1-800 number in the MBNA website, and talked to 4 very unfriendly people, finally one person contacted the mbna fraud department and confirmed that the 1-866-544-4104 number is legit and they do have the 0% promotion... That # is from a call centre operated by a third party company on behalf of mbna called Gemma Communications. MBNA knows about this company and there is no scam, phishing or fraud going on there.

if someone could shed some light on this for me..
say i have a dividend card which gives me cash back...or a card that gives me points for purchase
1. i write the cash advance cheque from the MBNA to the dividend/points card
2. i write another cash advance cheque from the dividend/points card to the investment account..
how many times would i get knocked in terms of service charges? is it worth it?
say i get 1% cash back, so basically i save the 1% service charge that the MBNA charges

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain the dividend rewards are not granted for cash advances.
