So if the store is really a convenience store, a coffee shop or a drug mart selling groceries along with other goods - you will only get 1%, but if it is primarily a grocery store - you'll still get 5%/3%.
But if the store is in the list, you can argue if they don't give it to you. If they aren't on the list, it's your words against theirs.

MBNA doesn't have a list. So if you don't get the extra percentage from a certain store, it's because the store is registered with Mastercard under another merchant code. You'd be directed back to the store for more info at that point I believe.

MBNA lowered the credit limits on all accounts that were inactive for 2 years. The reason it was lowered to 400.00 was reps can easily identify the reason for the decrease when looking at the account. The minimum credit line for a card is 300.00

Does anyone know if the Pharmacy inside Fortinos/No Frills use the same code for the 5%?

Got my card today.
So the wait was about 4 weeks for a new activation through GCR ($40 back), transferring accounts, and getting the SmartCash. Not bad.

I haven't received my Premier Rewards from GCR yet, applied last week of April. Did you call to "remind" them? I think I should do that if I don't get it by the end of this week.
Edit: Also checked GCR, no $40 yet.

MBNA's online apps take a long time. Took me nearly a month to get my Premier Rewards (and 2 weeks just for the confirmation call). After the confirmation call it took another 2 weeks to get the card. Now waiting on the Smart Cash after converting (been at least a week since it appeared online).

I don't have any MBNA products...and I read like 20+ pages of this thread (10 at the front and 10 at the back). SO you would call 1-888-876-6262 to apply for this card (got that part)
My question is on the rewards....so once you hit the $50 mark in cashback - your saying I would have to call customer service and request a cheque mailed to me? Is there no way to request online? As well can't they just apply the reward to your balance on your card if you ask?
(remember I have never dealt with MBNA so be nice)
With all the posts about lost or open mail, this part has me the most worried and why I have not applied for the card yet.
Please let me know your thoughts

Also since many people state calls get routed to India once in a while....how do you feel about MBNA's security of your personal information? Has anyone had any problems with them?
What is their customer service like? Do you have to wait a long time to talk to someone when you need to and have a question?
For a company I have never dealt with - I wonder about all these things, and ask others what their take is on it.

You don't call into request it, you'll automatically receive cheques in the mail in increments of $50.00

So, they said I could call back in a few days or wait for their call. They never called. About a week and a half later I called them. Everything had been approved but they were waiting for me to call back before doing the final approval and sending me the stuff.
P.S. Again, they approved me for way more than I wanted, despite the fact I specifically did not want a huge credit amount. But, I just reduced the amount on the spot and told them not to increase it without my permission. Some don't mind having huge amounts of unused credit card space. However, I prefer having enough so I can keep my credit card usage ratios very low, but don't have so much where the numbers become ridiculously high.
Got the card today, a week after I called in (the second time). I suspect I would have gotten it a week ago had I called two days after my initial application, instead of waiting for them to call me.
Now to go max it out! Just kidding of course!

Also....is the reward based on dollars and cents or just to the nearest dollar..
I will re-phrase..
With PC Mastercard if you spend $25.50 - you get 25.5 cents in free groceries (in the form of PC points)
With Canadian Tire Mastercard if you spend that same $25.50 - you get 25 cents in canadian tire money.
Meaning say I had 1000 purchases of $25.50 on each card...with PC I would have $255.00 in free groceries while with Canadian Tire I would only have $250.00. (Not a huge difference...but it adds up)
So with this Smart Cash Mastercard on $25.50 would I get 76.5 cents (based on 3%) or would I only get 75 cents.
Thanks
