Thanks for all the info.
I called a couple of days ago and applied was given a reference number and stated should either receive a call if they need more info or something in the mail in the next two weeks.
Thanks to everyone in this thread....For the phone numbers, the promo codes, and the PDF info package, all everything.
I tried to keep up on all posts....but I think I have read the first twenty pages and the last thirty so I got a good general info on this card.
I did not want to sign up to that other website apply for a card and wait just to switch it over....yes $40 would be nice...but somethings just are not worth it....and it was easier to just apply directly.

for those who already have the premier rewards card, the benefit of the smartcard is 2% over what you're getting already. i.e. 3% of the first $600 is $18, compared with 1% ($6).
...btw, i'm not considering the promotional 5% because conceivably you'd keep the card for much longer than the introductory period, so i wouldn't factor in introductory rates into long term planning
so basically that's a MAXIMUM of $12 per month, above what you'd get from the PRP+ card. it still adds up to an $144 per year, and you get to cash out every $50, which is nice, but are there any other advantages?
the SC is also a platinum card, right? so it has all the other benefits?
also, i already have about $150 worth of rewards on my PRP+ card. if i apply for transfer to SC card, will they just send me a cheque for my existing points, since it's over $50. they'll still recognize my PRP+ card, right?
thanks

I just signed up today but was told the APR will stay at my current rate of 19.9%, but that I upon receiving my card can apply to get it down to 13.99%. My balance is actually $0, and I have a $5000 limit...never missed a payment and held it for 4-5 years and i have a good credit history and steady job. Do you think they will make a big fuss about lowering the rate, because thats the biggest reason why i signed up for this card?

to be honest that i m not sure...some said it's when u get your first transaction, some ppl say it's when your card is activated...i would play safe and assume it's when they first approve your card.
And even if u are buying groceries, just overload on GCs now so u wont miss like a month of the 6 month promo.
