I think this is actually targeted to compete with the momentum. Being platinum and NO annual fee helps.
I also like how you can request the cashback once it hits $50.
This is more like American credit cards, nice to see something like this.

MBNA is owned by Bank of America.

I know that (I have 2 MBNA Cards, and 1 B of A Visa Signature)
But that doesn't mean that they carry over the same style of stuff. I mean look at AMEX, the US division is very different from the Canadian one, same with Citibank and so on. FIA Card Services is also Bank of America, if you look on many MBNA cards it will say issued by FIA Card Services.
However fee wise, Canadian cards are still a lot better. There are so many hidden fees on US cards,For Example: A Payment 1 day late will incurr a penalty fee or if you have a 0% BT offer if you don't use the card for purchases within 6 months (and pay interest at 22%) they will revoke the offer..

Damn, I am confused now if I should convert my starwood to cashback card
I was contemplating on switching to premier rewards before and I decided to stick with starwood but now, I think I might just switch
I hope we get a picture of how this looks like

Bah. Just applied for Premier Rewards last week. I guess I'll have to call in and change it after activating the card, unless I somehow luck out and they send this new card instead.

Nice, finally some cashback competition above 1%.
For sure gonna go for this card once it hits the web. Was thinking about the Scotia card but I'm a low spender so didn't know if the reward would trump the annual fee.
PC card not giving me many reasons to stay with them, quite surprising that they don't give more than the 1% at their stores. This one has the better benefits too.

MBNA is just simply awesome. I have decided to convert mine, but I was advised to do the conversion from SPG to SmartCash on the 11th, a day after my billing cut off so I wont lose my over 2k starpoints to be earned for this month. They said I should have no problem converting to the new smartcash card from SPG. YEY!

The Scotiabank Momentum just got owned...
This card's a no brainer if you have the Premier Rewards. I currently use PCF MC for Tim Hortons and No Frills (because it has Paypass). With 3% cashback at supermarket, that beats PC points by a mile! Now I can say goodbye to the PCF MC. I just hope it has Paypass like the Shoppers Optimum!
Going to make sure I give them a call tomorrow to switch over.
