I don't know about other cites, but here in Winnipeg, they advertise on the SuperStore Gas pump that you got 15 cents off if pay with PC MC(receive it in superbuck coupon). So it's better than using the Smart Cash MC when fill up the gas at SuperStore's Gas station.

Yeah, Toronto doesn't have that. If we had that, a lot more people would take their PCF MCs out of their sock drawers.
I'm still confused at to which card I should be using. I get 1.5 AP at groceries/gas with my Aerogold Visa and 3% cashback with the Smart Cash. In some cases I can get 7% return with Aerogold, but with where Air Canada is going the Smart Cash is looking even better. Decisions, decisions.

(doing it through GCR means you get 3.33% AND an additional 1-2% by using another credit card, by doing it at the gas bar, you only get 3% after the promo).
Pardon my ignorance - what does GCR stand for

Hi, I want to apply and don't have an existing card with them. What do you mean about the "credit hit"?

Thanks OP. Ordered mine today and was told I'd receive it at the end of next week because they process the transactions "later on in the week".
Hopefully it'll be here sooner than that.

That they are going to pull your credit report. Whenever your credit report gets pulled, your beacon score goes down.

I'd be extremely surprised if Amex will come out something to compete with this given their current status. They are even paying some people just to cancel their cards

Who cares? If you want the credit card, you have to apply for it. It's not something you can avoid. This credit hit stuff is silly. It doesn't really make a difference, unless you do excessive applications, and even if you do that in a short time frame, the so-called "hit" will be minimized, and will correct itself in about six months with no credit enquiries.

Don't forget you're only getting 5% then 3% on the first $600/month. Thereafter it's 1% correct?
There are better cards out there than this for all expenditures surpassing $600.
