Like to thank the OP again. Got out second $50 check in less than 4 months of having this, and all on stuff we buy anyway.
Sweetest deal ever

The interesting thing was that i received the $40 a couple days after submitting my application, which means I was accepted. I didn't hear or see anything from mnba until i got my cc in the mail a couple weeks later.
That's odd. They're not supposed to credit you $40 until you've made your first purchase with the card. It's in their info when you click on the offer on their home page.

Yeah, but in reality it happens like he said. I also got my $40 rebate soon after I applied for the card - this is how I learned that I had been approved

I checked the status of my app today and they said it was approved and sent on the 17th.... and with a credit limit of $1500.
I asked the rep if I could up the limit somehow, but he said I couldn't... I want at least $2500 to purchase perhaps a laptop or whatever. Should I just ignore him and call in to try?

I thought the minimum is $5000 in credit.
I asked them to lower my limit from 10k to 2k, they said it couldn't be done. So it got me down to 5k only.

Really? I got the $40 rebate 2 days after I applied for the card. The card came 2 weeks after application.

I love how it is an unchipped card and doesn't expire for another 3 years.

You'll get sent a chip card before October to replace that one. The entire portfolio is being replaced and it is being staggered across all the billing cycles.

For MBNA, really? I thought they were just too cheap to expand their chip card beyond 1 program.

Strange, maybe because I'm a student?
Meh, I'll call in to try for a credit increase, PC Mastercard did that for me no problem... but I guess it varies.

I applied for this card almost a month ago and so far i'm frustrated by the run around i've had. I applied online and received a call the next day stating they wanted to verify information and after about 10minutes on the phone stated my application was approved, they told me my credit limit and then said the card would arrive in 7-10 business days. Flash forward almost 3 weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying they needed to verify additional information and I needed to call in. I called in and they said they needed to verify my banking information and wanted to see direct deposits. I don't understand why they couldn't approve it the first time properly. I just qualified for a mortgage with no issues, I have a good credit score and history and have two other credit cards with a much higher limit then they offered. They should have just called me the second time rather then mailing me.
Does anyone else find it weird they wanted an account history from the bank for the past month?

I'll try and use my old one for as long as I can then. I hate chipped cards with a passion.
