Finally found a Shell that takes the smartcash card, finally.

One of our usual Shell stations worked yesterday that previously didn't. Hopefully all of them are working now.

Had the same problem earlier @Shell pay-at-the-pumps (had posted previously), and just this week decided "what the heck, let's see if the World card will work @the Shell pumps?
and surprisingly it WORKED!! Woohoo!! no more going into the cashier to pay for gas. Hopefully this is for all Shell stations in Mississauga.........

Shell normally does their pre-auth @ head office in calgary, that's why you see "$75 -- SHELL CALGARY", then few days after, it will post up as the gas station you went to after the charge is final. They updated the system at head office to accept our world card

Are the cheques sent out automatically or do we have to request them? I've only been using the card since mid December and I have over $100 as of my last bill cycle end (Feb 2nd). Can I expect to receive 2x $50 cheques by mid March? Thanks.

Auto and yes. It takes ~4-6 weeks from redemption to receive them.

I have a CAA MBNA credit card right now. Converting (if possible) to Smart Cash would affect my credit ? Does it modify my actual cc or request a new card and cancel the first one ?

At least that is what the T&C has. I am still waiting for a cheque re. redemption Nov. 3rd. But most cheques were in the past within the time specified.

Read the information upfront, it discusses the questions you have. Converting is the best way to get teh new card as I understand, and definitely do not cancel on your own the old card and number. Converting gives you incentives. Applying for the card on your own if you qualify provides the same incentives plus a rebate of $60 if you go through GCR.

You get 3% cashback for the first $600 spent on gas & groceries in each calendar month. Anything over $600 on gas & groceries in the same month earns 1%. All other purchases earn 1%.

For the first 6 months, the promotion rate is 5% instead of 3% but same rules apply.

Does it mean that EVERY month I can get 3% cashback the first $600 spent on gas & groceries? Or it get reset after the $50 cheque issue, and then 3% cashback again counts for the first $600...? thank you

Yes, every calendar month. It has no relation to when your $50 cheques are issued.

SDM is not a grocery store and the only retail place to buy SDM gift card is SDM
