Wasn't the Big West the Angus burger you're talking about? That was phased out awhile ago.

McDonald's Angus Burger
Anyone else try it yet? I had one and found it to be pretty good and filling. It's 1/3 pound of meat. I had a hard time finishing my fries after.
Just a note though. It's a test program in Mississauga at select restaurants. By select I think they mean not too many because I went into another McDonald's on Sunday here in Mississauga and asked if they had it. The girl told me I had to go to Harvey's for that. I said that McDonald's has one and that I've had one. She told me that's impossible as there is no such thing and that I must have had a Western Burger! I realize this is a test program but McDonald's should make all area restaurants aware just for this very reason.

My boyfriend tried the burger (this was around when it first came out I think) and said it was disgusting. Threw it out after barely two bites...
I think the girl you spoke to was just not trained about an item that wouldn't really be relevant to her location. The operator of that particular McDonald's possibly believed that it would be a waste of money teaching an employee about a product their own location didn't have...just a thought really. I'm not exactly sure about McDonald's employee training practices.

Nope this is a new burger. I believe this is the same burger they offer in the US. The box was in english only and didn't have the maple leaf in the logo.
I'm not sure what McDonald's training practices are either and you could be right about that franchisee not informing the staff because it's a product they are not carrying. Perhaps the franchisee isn't even aware of it. I just couldn't believe she was arguing with me! All she had to say was we don't have that here, plain and simple.

Tried it in LA.
It was thick and juicy. But beef had an odd taste to it... Needed more seasoning.
I saw one LARGE (not by numbers) family eat 7 or 8 of them in one sitting - two each.

I remember when I used to live in Winnipeg, and it was (not sure if it still is) a test market for lots of companies...McDonalds, BK, Wendys all used it as a place, where if the product sold, it would sell anywhere.
That being said, a McAngus Burger sounds gross

I find that pretty much all McDonald's hamburgers (the meat) don't have much taste. You might as well be eating edible cardboard.
