Looks like free wi-fi on the Megabus too. Just leaving Toronto on time. Brand new bus. Says MEGABUS on the side. Completely full. Pretty cool so far. Will post more from my N800 tablet later if battery left.

Ok..on bus still. running late. Partly from bordee, partly from a LONG stop. Girl beside me kept sleeping on my shoulder!
Bus left from West side of Royal York.
Price 50 cents
Stops: border, bufallo airport and two rest stops. camp ground 4 washoom (with vending machines) and a Mcdonalds (about 60 miles from Nyc) We should not have stoppee at MCDs. Too slow 4 service. Tip there is a Burger King across the street.
One driver from TO to Bufallo. He was very professional, made announcements,etc..
2nd driver forgot his training. Didn't know how to turn off lights.haha He figured it out eventually and people cheered. Hills are nice near the end of the trip.
Yes, toilet in bus. Video screens too but no video
Any other Qs?Last edited by YLSF; May 31st, 2008 at 06:29 AM.

Overall it was a good trip... posted some additional info in the travel forums under the "ask me anything about NYC" thread.
As for the bus, 2 hrs late on the way there, on time more or less on the way back. Customs was easy on teh way back. Guy walked on the bus, looked at ID, asked if I bought anything, on to the next person. There were like 10 people on the bus back. MUCH better that way.. haha... Chatted with some people in the bus (including a guy from RFD... dude who bought the Simpson's book, chime in if you read this!!)...
I don't know if I would take the bus again... I guess for free or cheap (less than $100 return). Otherwise, I think I would pay the extra $100 or $200 for a flight and be a bit more refreshed. Wasn't so bad heading to NYC but worse on the way back I felt (I think because you get to customs around 5am....so then I found it hard to sleep again after that)

Thanks for all the updates YSLF. I'm glad you had a great trip!

I actually don't mind the "long" bus ride. I'm used to taking the bus as I've never had a car in my family and we take the bus everywhere. I really think the bus is better than spending tons more money for a flight. You really aren't "loosing" any time if you travel overnight and sleep on the bus.
I would recommend that you use the following sites to win hotels:
www.hotwire.com
www.priceline.com
Probably... pretty cool, eh?

As for where I stayed.. at a hostel... Called "Tone Hostel"... abotu $30 a night for a dorm room
You might want to check out YMCA for cheap accomodations too ....
The Wifi wasn't super fast but was pretty cool. On the way back I was on a Coach bus though so no WIFI....(you won't always get on the Megabus bus it seems)

My friends and I will be taking a megabus to NYC during the labor day weekend. I booked 10 tickets a couple months ago but all I got was a confirmation number. Is that good enough to get on the bus or do I need anything else (I don't have tickets
)
