yup, I remember that thread. Guess they discontinued that pay by monthly promotion sometime before that post in April 2004.

yup, as I recall those reports were of people who got billed for the membership who did not ask for it. I personally had no problems with them after signing up, and neither did anyone else I know of.

No idea, but since its credit card through paypal there would be avenues to pursue.

Aug 1st, 2004 11:48 PM #23I'd rather it be through my CC provider. Paypal is too much of a hassle.

I think these guys subscribe to At Home and Lifestyle and resells the items... but they take a 10% margin. The list of vendors is identical to At Home and Lifestyle.

I don't know about LifeStyles but they have some that At Home doesn't carry.
Anyway, just ordered $100 worth of Canadian Tire gift cards from them at 10%. we'll see how it goes. We could always use these gift cards since my dad's car drinks gas like crazy.

Hmmm.... good thinking felix. Just to make sure, you can use these gift cards for gas at CT?

felix, I'm sure I'm going to have to PM you because I've read your post about 3 times and I'm still not quite grasping this.
Maybe I am but I don't believe it!!
At any rate, for a chick that's likely to spend about 8K at Home Depot in the next 6 months, I could use a 20% break.
expect a PM!!

I've been using these 20% saving gift cards for over a year. It's a great deal!

So if $500 is the limit, and you get 20% rebated, which would be $100, and it costs $139 for a membership - I'm not sure I get the savings part?
