I picked up a Sharp Aquos 42" LCD LC42D69U for $399 for my parents and a Toshiba 32" LCD 32DT2U for ourselves for an upstairs bedroom.

I got both at a Best Buy location in west Ottawa (Merivale Road)

When the wife got up, we are planning to go to Sears to get a KitchenAid range hood and a Panasonic microwave for our new place. We will round things out by going to the Bay to buy some towels (buy one, get one free). Busy day ahead!, preparing my bacon and eggs breakie right about now to give me some energies ;-)

Happy BD shopping everyone!

First!... in line at the Orleans location. Too bad I didn't need anything big, got the 2TB HD, flash drive and lots of little stuff. Overall it was a success :)

I bought a Samsung BD-D5700 blu-ray player at $99 from Future Shop this morning, and what a disappointment!

I can't get signal through HDMI, so I initial set it up through VGA. Then when playing a movie, the VGA signal is intermittent to the best. Most of time, TV can't even recognize the player at all.

Maybe it's a defective unit. I will return it and get another brand name blu-ray player instead!

I've done most shopping online this year, in fact I am about to head out just to watch the people in a bit.
Maybe grab another few basic things, but I'd expect those to remain throughout the week.

robster77 wrote: I bought the Sony 3D Wireless Blu-Ray Home Theatre System. For $387 on a reg. $999 item, I'm quite pleased and will fit my purposes perfectly. Wife bought some boots at Brown's Shoes and some stuff at Banana Republic. That's it so far.

Okay, to follow up on my online purchase above from FS, I trekked out today and I must admit, I was quite impressed with the lack of traffic in my area. Got up at 6:30 and was up and showered by 6:50, and in the line at Canada Computers by 7:20. There were about 20 people ahead of my wife and I. Picked up two WD 2TB Green drives, 2 99 cent 8GB USB sticks and two $4.99 surge protector bars. We then popped into FS and I grabbed the last Monster turbine set of headphones. I thought they were supposed to be on for $94 but they said that was online only and got charged $114. I'm still iffy as to if I want to keep them but just in case. We then hit the mall where I picked up Modern Warfare 3 for $29 along with 13 pairs of underwear at half price each. My wife picked up four Lord & Taylor cashmere sweaters for $59 each at The Bay, along with a bunch of leggings. We then bought some ear muffs for myself at Mark's and I then hit EB Games for the 50% of Used game deal. Picked up Battlefield 3, Elder Scrolls Skirim, Dead Space 2, Dante's Inferno, and Fight Night Champion (all for PS3) and Gears of War 3 (for XBOX) with a grand total with tax for $107.

We then went grocery shopping at got home by 12:30, enough time for lunch and to get ready for the World Juniors. Pretty good morning.
