[Merged] Anyone else missing out on Hot Deals because of Canadian Coupons?
just wondering what the traffic count is like for the Canadian Coupons section.
i know i don't spend as much time in there as i do for hot deals, and so i end up missing some great coupons.
anyone else spending a fair amount of times in the coupons forum?

Considering merging them back. Not sure yet.
Thoughts?

I like it right now, it's more organized. I go through a large portion of the forums though so it's not a problem for me about "missing" anything. It helps when you spend around 30-40mins on RFD everytime, cuz it means you'll be able to read everything. Go on a few times and day and you'll be like me.
Oh gosh, I should get a life. A few hours of RFD per day isn't good for me

i find that i'm not going through as many pages as i was with when the two forums were combined into one.
sure it's marginally more organized, but there's so much crossover (grey area) between what's a Hot Deal and what's a Canadian Coupon, that people can miss out on deals...and as a result, lead to possibly less time and clicks spent on the site.
example: i posted a "Banana Republic 30% Coupon for September 17-17" in the Hot Deals section, and i'm almost certain it garnered more attention than if it was in the Coupons forums.
again, just my thoughts.

Love the new coupons section, it's much more organized and easier to find them. Please don't change a thing. Well done.

To be clear, we're talking about the Coupons Forum http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/f...play.php?f=109, not Coupons.RedFlagDeals.com

I'd prefer them to be merged. I keep forgetting there is a Coupons forum because I bookmark Hot Deals and Off Topic and pretty much only stick to those out of habit.

Merge please.
Many coupons are "hot deals" as well in my opinion.
And you already have a Coupons database, so why split the 2 forums when it can be under one since they serve the same purpose?
besides, i dont think many people go over to the Coupons Forum anyways... (judging from view hits)

keep the way it currently is and add a page that show them merged for us oldschoolers ala redflagdeals.com/forums/oldschool

didn't even realize there is a new Canadian Coupon section
Well, for now I'm okay with the new breakout as it does make Hot Deals cleaner (but then one can miss the Hot Deals as well)
I use "New Posts" 99% of the time, so it doesn't affect me as much
Maybe I just need to add Coupons RSS into my reader as well

I prefered the old way as well, but can't figure out if it's just resistance to change or if the old way was better.
I still hate that the default sidebar location is on the left, and found myself wondering the same thing when that came around.
