I had one of the original Archos 6000 MP3 players way back at the turn of this century. Here's what it looked like:
http://www.amazon.com/Archos-Jukebox.../dp/B000050NPX
It looks big and clunky compared with these two sweet looking machines. And it cost more than either of these!
I'd love to get one. Must ... resist.
BTW OP - Both links are identical. You don't have the 160 GB player's link.

am I missing something?
That looks like a sale price not a price drop.

Link corrected.
Well, they dropped the price and then got it on sale again. 160GB used to be over $350 I believe.

Do they still have these at BB for price match? I checked the website and couldn't find them, unless they have some in stores. Staples doesn't carry it either. Last week I was checking out the 80gb because with the friends and family sale it was about 165 before taxes, but this is even better! Hot price for sure

Grabbed a display model of the 80GB unit today for $79.96. Sweet deal! Also got the optional AC adapter thrown in from the display.
Can't go wrong at that price

You have to pay an extra $30 to use the Opera web browser.

i bought the verbatim 40 gig xt for 49.99. It'll play all my divx/xvid except ac3 fine. Use virtual dub and i can re-encode a flick from ac3 to mp3 in 5 min(ymmv). It tv outs as well and can record tv too as a simple .asf(mpeg 4 with mp3 audio),Upto 720x 300 resolution. Not bad 40 bucks no codecs to buy. Downside again was lack of ac3 support.

I have one- and then after having issues I bought myself a netbook.
Cons:
- Wifi that requires you to pay $30 to turn on the browser.
- Other add-ons that require you to pay for; like MPEG playback.
- Takes a looooong time to charge, and forget trying to charge it from a laptop using the USB. So you need to buy a dock to charge it well, so extra money
- Java issues. For example using my ISP's webmail, I can see email but not reply. (Which defeats the purpose of bringing it along on a trip.)
