Interesting, as it was ASUS's $399 price on the original that made it so popular.
It looks nice but rather spend $649 on a laptop than it.
Waiting for Win 8 tablets and a retina iPad 3.

+1, one of the reasons the first transformer was so popular after was because it was $100 less than the other android tablets at the time in addition to being in short supply when released

This will have facial recognition unlock.
The $399 for the original was for 16GB, this is twice that at $499 (for the 32GB model). The price for this product given the specs is very reasonable, even a bargain really.

I would hope windows 8 would be ported to this, I think a developer win 8 should run on it as win 8 runs on the tegra 3 (at least from some videos online...)
For 499 its a great price, twice as good processing and graphics as anything including the ipad 2 or any others, its thinner, beautiful, and its 32 gigs of storage, and 499 is the regular price, after ordering 4 playbooks for parents and sisters Im trying to hold off ordering this for myself yet...

Great, now the first gen Transformer can drop below $300 by early 2012.

+1 dual boot Win8 and ICS. Win8 should work great with Prime + keyboard dock. Add an USB HDD, then I don't need to take my netbook on my next trip.

why not wait for the ipad 3 in your case? I think an important factor should be the OS rather than the hardware itself, both tablets are good enough in term of specs. The transformer prime's got a quad core , which is supposed to be superior, but I highly doubt a typical user will see a big difference in performance. I personally am going for the asus transformer prime, as I already have an iPhone 4 ,and i wanna get a taste of android. Just my 2 cents

I have an iPhone and love it, however for tablets I think I prefer android. I don't think iOS is as well suited for larger screens. I like both platforms and feel this is my unbiased opinion...
