I'm also trying to decide by between the signet 20 and the Q300. The Q300 is suppose to be a very decent bbq (lots of 5 star reviews) that is also efficient on gas usage. Also, heat-up time is very quick and both have roughly the same cooking space (no warming rack on the Q). Anyone else had these 2 short-listed? Which one would be better?

I'm new to BBQ and looking to get one this summer. I'm looking at the Weber charcoal grill series. Anybody got any experience with those and would you recommend those?

FYI - not sure if this has been stated already, but...
Rona also has a fairly basic Sterling BBQ that comes with a rear rotisserie burner and NO SIDE BURNER for only for $289.
Granted, this unit is not too sexy looking... but maybe this is an option for those looking for a basic BBQ for under $300 with a rear rotisserie burner and not a side burner.
The aluminum oven casting has a life time warranty, and both the Dual-H and rear burner carry a 5-YEAR WARRANTY, and 2-yrs on everything else. Not too shabby for a sub $300 BBQ.
Model 445174 LP• 44,000 BTU stainless steel Dual-H™ burner system
• 15,000 BTU stainless steel rear rotisserie burner
• Premium rotisserie kit included
• 700 sq. in. total cooking surface
• 400 sq. in. primary cooking surface
• Porcelain coated cast iron cooking grids
• Stainless steel Flav-R-Wave™ cooking system
• Linear Flow™ valves
• Accu-temp™ thermometer
• Sure-Lite™ electronic ignition system
• Uni-Cast™ aluminum oven
• Black chrome epoxy painted front panel and control panel
• Perma-Mold™ side shelves with integrated tool hooks
I currently have a 7 year old Sterling bbq that is still going strong. I had the dual-H burner replace under warranty in year 4 for free with no problems from Sterling. (I had the original receipt so the warranty process was smooth and flawless).
Just a thought...
Cheers

You won't be disappointed with the Sterling. We have a very basic one (260 square inch, no side burner, no rotisserie). It has the Dual-H burner and the cast aluminum oven. It is still going hot like day-1 and the burner is in great shape, and is 9 years old.
The only reason I'm looking at the Signet by Broil King is because its bigger andhas some features my old and small Sterling doesn't. I'd recommend the Sterling (with the cast aluminum oven) to anyone looking for that size of a bbq. Ours has been bulletproof and is the main reason I'm sticking with the OMC line of BBQ's (specifically the built-in Canada ones like the Broil King line, and like my Sterling once was).

One of my local Home Hardware have the Sterling 44516 and since it's the 2008-2009 model they would sell it to me for 239$

Is it a good deal?

I was about to pick up the signet 20 but now this sterling BBQ is being mentioned cheaper. What would be the difference between Signet 20 and Sterling BBQ?

I just picked up a two burner sterling 445154 from Kent for $199.99 (for work). I've had a sterling for years, not the most even heat but its predictable and not bad as a average BBQ. I bought a weber this year for home, its the chinese built BBQ but hoping I will like it.

I was thinking of the signet 20, but I was at home depot and their broil mate version looks the same to me, cast aluminum oven and iron grids, and its $299 regular price, $50 cheaper.

Here is my Hot Deal: I found a Broil King Imperial for $175. This originally sold for $1,300 with tank, cover and taxes.
Super unit, works great.
Amazing what you can find at yard sales! The deals are out there.
