[Merged] Best Arabic food (Shawarmas) in the GTA! *updated 03/09/10*
Nick's Famous Pitas.

I have been going to this guy since he opened up shop. Great guy, and great food.
Tell him Marc sent you.

Yes, he's better than Pita Grill.
Also found a great non traditional shawarma place in Vaughn.... Pita Golden Pocket

Vaughan
2104 Highway 7 West, Unit 2
Concord, ON L4K
Run by a very friendly Russian couple, who likes to put a lot of toppings on. A very big sandwich with a variety of fresh toppings and sauces. Be sure to check this place out if you are in the area.
Another favourite among the arabic community is Paramount Bakery.

Not the best shawarmas nor falafels, but great baked goods, and great flatbreads. I get the vegan-friendly Zataar with veggies on a pita bread. Or enjoy the spicy chicken on pita. The bakery has a juice bar and patio for summertime lounging. This place is always busy. So come early on the weekends.
Sorry Duckdown, i had to delete a bunch of images, so i could fit it all in my post. Page 41 and 42 if anyone wants to see the map or ratings.

north of Eglinton iirc.
It's part of the new plaza that's being built there. Same plaza with a Fish n Chips place and the Iron Chef restaurant.
Drop my name, and he should treat you well.

I'll stick to the stores in the Warden and Lawrence area. Sauga is way too far for me just for a schwarma.

Which are the good stores in Scarborough? I've only been to the Armenian Kitchen, and all the shavarmas at the foodcourts, the beef looks so old and dry. Some juicy beef or lamb ones would be .....yummy. I didn't like Pita Grill so much, too many veggies and not enough meat.

Farhat at Warden and Lawrence is not bad. Down the street a bit is a placed called Village BBQ which is also good.

it's downtown on bloor street.
not sure what the address is exactly, but it's a couple of blocks west of spadina,or a couple of blocks east of bathurst. it's really near new gen sushi, if you know where that is.
i can positively say they have some of the best shawermas i've ever tried. and i've tried a lot.

1. You never mentioned the price. For all I know, it could be like $5.99. I'd rather go downtown and get one for $2.99.
2. Is it halal? I have alot of friends who eat it, how do I tell them without knowing?
