Run by a very friendly Russian couple, who likes to put a lot of toppings on. A very big sandwich with a variety of fresh toppings and sauces. Be sure to check this place out if you are in the area.
Another favourite among the arabic community is Paramount Bakery.

Not the best shawarmas nor falafels, but great baked goods, and great flatbreads. I get the vegan-friendly Zataar with veggies on a pita bread. Or enjoy the spicy chicken on pita. The bakery has a juice bar and patio for summertime lounging. This place is always busy. So come early on the weekends.

Nice and modern, very clean, again the owner is really nice. It is a dark meat shawarma with all possible toppings. Good grilled chicken souvlaki pita as well. Massive portions... dare you to order the full shawarma dinner and finish it
Shawarma House
Small spot serving mostly the students from the Sheridan right across the street. The woman working there seems nice enough but I don't like their chunky and sometimes rusty lettuce, personal pet peeve of mine. Dark & white meat mixed, and the kind of place where they finish the meat on a griddle after shaving it off
Delicious Shawarma
No results on google for any of the stuff in the new plaza here. It is right beside the Wild Wings, in the plaza with Food Basics. The chicken here is good and I like their baklavas but again, my issue is with their lettuce. Too coarse and often rusty, doesn't mix well with the garlic sauce and you end up picking out big chunks of lettuce. My advice if youre the owner, start shredding your lettuce instead of chopping it into huge chunks. Until you do that, I wont be visiting very often. Also, get some hotter hot sauce. Poor hours, close at something like 6PM every day. All dark meat, so loses points for me there. Sits in a steam bin, never had it shaved off the spit. However deserves a mention because it seems every other person I ask around here chooses it as their favorite, so it's probably just my standards
World Shawarma King
Poor hours. Seems to cater mostly to the business and factory workers who work directly behind the AMC theater. Busy at lunch time. Not a bad shawarma but the chicken is a little pink for my liking, kind of freaked me out on my last visit there.
Pita Land
Part of a chain, used to be some other crappy shawarma chain and they changed name to Pita Land. Ask the people at University of Toronto and they'll say its the best thing ever.. I think it's pretty mediocre and crappy. I would give it a 2 star rating, but they actually make something called "charcoal chicken" here now that tastes better than their shawarma..
Maz Maz Shawarma
Hated it. Crusty old ass chicken thats been sitting around all day. Chicken on their skewer looks like it's been up there for ages without being shaved off (low turnover). Creepy dudes working behind the counter. Boring flavors. Stale baklava. Wont be returning.

This place is actually not bad.. It's owned by the same Mom & Pop who are always there. I find it a little salty, it really becomes apparent if you order the dinner rather than a sandwich.. The hours are the worst, it seems that theyre ALWAYS closed when I pass by, they must close at like 5 or 6PM apparently.. I don't get there often but I've had pretty decent experiences here

Which are the good stores in Scarborough? I've only been to the Armenian Kitchen, and all the shavarmas at the foodcourts, the beef looks so old and dry. Some juicy beef or lamb ones would be .....yummy. I didn't like Pita Grill so much, too many veggies and not enough meat.

it's downtown on bloor street.
not sure what the address is exactly, but it's a couple of blocks west of spadina,or a couple of blocks east of bathurst. it's really near new gen sushi, if you know where that is.
