The problems described mostly appear before applying Novo7 Fire fw 4.04 or FLAMBE nf_404_0827_01.
However, if some problems are still present then you should read the comments of 5zymon from http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/38256-c ... ms-listed/

"I have ordered Aurora II in the first batch (first week or so). I didn't have major problems except wifi maybe. AFter two months aurora had nice roms with most of the stuff fixed, and it was pretty good tablet. So I think it's going to take another month or two for Fire. Right now I have sold my aurora and ordered Fire, due to higher screen resoltuion. But now I know, I will have to wait for some software updates. "

Not sure if the cure is 100%. It may help a little, but people are still having issues (ie: popping sound, wifi connectivity) with the Ainol Fire: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/38256-c ... ge__st__20

Has anyone gotten their Fire yet? If so, please post about your usage experience. Thanks :)

I ordered one yesterday, but after reading all the posts here, and other thread on RFD, I am kinda worried about all the issues the first batch had, but have a bit of a relief that the ROM update might fix some of the issues ... Does anyone know that the next batch which will be shipped after Sep 12 will have the new ROM update or will I have to update it manually?

Is there a way to connect this tablet to a Blackberry phone (bold 9900) so I can use it's Internet connection?
Just enable wifi hotspot on your BB9900 and you can connect up to 5 devices to your BB9900.This is how I use my bb9900 for non bb tablets. This feature comes with OS 7.1 for your bb9900.

If you can get a Nexus7 16GB for just 185$ shipped to your door... let me know, I'll like to know where.

Nexus 7 is about 300$ shipped to your door (100% more vs the Fire).

Buyincoins as per OP, ends up being 157$ with the code from the Aurora II thread. Couldn't get the 5%%%off code to work

I've never paid any custom fees when I've ordered from China. They lie yes, but nothing I can do.

As for comparing with the Nexus7, it's the HOT DEALS forum here. The reference is the Nexus 7 16GB @ roughly 300$ tx in
When a thing cost twice as much it's hard to compare the two. Is it a better tablet? I hope it's better it cost 300$.

Is it 150$ better? It's your call but for me it's a NO.

You can apply the same logic and try to compare an IPAD3 with the Nexus 7.
I hope the IPAD3 is better it costs 600$.
+1

2 years ago, Chinese clone tablets barely work.
1 year ago. Android froyo low rez, but already adding camera and HDMI.
today. For $100-$120 you get dual core, camera, 16GB...

+1 year (next fall)
Once they fix software bugs, what's to stop everybody buying sub $100 Chinese knock of tablets better than today's Kindle Fire HD?
Access to cool contents or software - yeah, I'm sure nobody will find those things on internet...

Expensive tablets WERE just a fad. Just ask the grad trying all semester to sell his $2800 late 2008 MacBook Pro for half price - he couldn't make tears when we mocked he'd be lucky to get $500. A broken man.

There is an issue with the touch screen suddenly dying... http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/38064-b ... een-input/

#)#&$@... All stock were recalled (that's why most sellers had no stock) and the next version is coming out next week apparently. I really hope it can be fixed with new firmware...
Damn.. I was watching this thread since I was somewhat interested in this and was waiting for some user opinions before buying so this really sucks.. You have any info on the next version coming next week?
