Between that and the Aurora II from the same manufacturer, which is best for someone who doesn't care about the extra-resolution offered by the Fire ?

Elf II is below Aurora II, however I do reommend getting Aurora II with its IPS screen (better viewing angles and color reproduction).

Been reading around in that forum in the first post, and it seems that the first batch of these may have an issue. SEEMS to be software related, so hopefully a flash (whenever it comes out) will fix the problem. (though I haven't seen what the actual problems are) I think this is a pretty good budget tablet, but I think I'll hold off a bit and see what happens. I'm sure Ainol will get things fixed up, but I'll wait until it happens. I honestly wouldn't mind a Nexus either, but no HDMI and the price kind of kills it for me compared to this. (Yes, I'm aware that this won't be a perfect tablet, but will be good enough for surfing, checking email, being an eReader and watching the occasional vid (sometimes outputted to TV).

You've tested it? If so, what apps have you tested?

Just a 5% coupon. Plus the 5% that Paypal will give you back. I ended up paying 142$ for my Fire during the back to school event.

Weird question... There is like a million apps out there. Something more specific would help.

That's a perfectly valid question. I'm not asking him/her to list every app used of course. To clarify: Just in general what type of apps and what big ones, and are there any significant gotchas.

Is there a way to connect this tablet to a Blackberry phone (bold 9900) so I can use it's Internet connection?
I own a Blackberry Playbook and am quite happy with it. The problem is that I dropped it and the screen cracked. It's still functional, but it bothers me and this tablet seems very promising.

Why would they sell a tablet that cannot run apps???? I remember a few games that did not work properly. But apps, no.

I though so too but the 5% is in my Paypal account. BIC must be hosted in the USA but they ship from HK.

There's already a huge thread on this tablet somewhere....no need to make more.
