[Merged] Bloomex Flowers - Warning: AVOID!
Thank you to Bloomex.ca for ruining my Valentine's Day.
Although I wanted to be with my girlfriend today, I cannot - we attend different schools and live about 2 hours apart. Thus, I turned to an online flower merchant to purchase and deliver flowers for a V-day surprise. What a mistake that turned out to be.
Since my girlfriend was supposed to have classes until 5:00pm today, I requested an evening delivery (which they offer at extra cost). The scheduled delivery time was to be between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Apparently, their drivers don't actually read the order instructions before delivering them; the driver apparently showed up to my girlfriend's place before 4:00pm.
I say apparently because the flowers were not delivered. The driver stated that no one was home. Coincidentally, because of the snowstorm in Southern Ontario, there were 7 people at home when the supposed attempted delivery was to have taken place, including my girlfriend, whose classes were cancelled today. She only found out about the attempted delivery because they called her.
This is where I get really pissed off. The company that handles orders in my girlfriend's area asked her to come to them in a different city and pick up the order or wait until sometime between 9am and 9pm tomorrow, since they "already attempted a delivery today." Excuse me? COME PICK THEM UP? Are you shi*ting me? During the course of this phone call, my girlfriend became upset, and understandably so. The person on the line then hung up on her, after reiterating that there's no way they'd be able to make another delivery attempt today. Yeah. Hung up on her.
...
Fast forward 20 minutes. The local company calls back, and states that they'll (oh, so kindly) make a delivery attempt between 6:00pm and 8:30pm tonight. Did the morons finally read the delivery instructions? Oh, and they hung up on her. Again. COULD YOU BE ANY MORE RUDE?
I would love to describe to you in much more colourful language how I feel right now. I don't know whether I should just outright cancel the order. It really doesn't make a difference now, does it? My gift, along with the surprise that should have accompanied it, is ruined. Good freaking game.
Thank you, Bloomex.

I would not pay the full price for such service - they should have offered you some kind of discount for their mistake... How can they expect to get more business in the future if this is how they do business...

I've got the same problem with Bloomex.
Placed an order that was suppose to be delivered on Feb13th in the GTA area.
Delivery never showed.
This company is frustrating as hell, i've been trying to call them at the 1-888-912-5666 and there is no answer.
Sent an e-mail requesting for a refund yesterday and no response yet.
Very disappointed with these guys.
Any suggestions?

My friend had a similar problem with Bloomex, he paid extra for a delivery service and they didn't accomplish it either, they blamed it on the weather. So his gf didn't get her flowers when she was at home. They told him that they were going to return the extra money he paid for the delivery, not sure if he got it back yet though.

i also ordered some roses to be delivered on feb 14, they never arrived.
instead, a totally different order was delivered on feb 15. I phoned them to inform them of their mistake and they said i wouldnt be able to get a refund so they sent out my original order on feb 16...
i will never order from them again..and i would advise others to stay away..

Ethics of BloomEx Questionable
I have the same bad experience with BloomEx and I am so mad right now.
My wife still hasn't got the flowers that were supposed to be for Valentines day (last week). Everyday I call them, they said they would deliver the flowers the next morning. That never happened! (They said they tried it once after 4pm but I doubt it. Also, they promised morning, not afternoon delivery that day!) And the manager Sally also refused to cancel my order and get me the refund even though it has been one week late. I would not suggest anyone to buy from them. Their ethics are so questionable.

Chargeback. It's that simple (presuming you paid by CC).
You entered into a contract for delivery on a certain date. They failed to fulfill their part of the contract. Additionally, you would have paid a premium for Valentine's Day flowers, and of course after Valentines Day, the cost of the same product is reduced. Therefore, you would be paying Valentines Day prices for Feb 20 (pick any date) flowers.

I suppose I could finish the story about how my Valentine's Day ended. To keep it brief, there was a deluge of phone calls both to and from Bloomex, including an unsolicited call from Bloomex to my girlfriend after midnight. Are they ********?
As it was impossible to reach a Bloomex operator via any of the many phone numbers on their website, I emailed them (to two separate addresses) asking them to cancel my order. Lo and behold, their delivery person showed up to my girlfriend's door (again?) around 8:00pm that night. Too little, too late. I asked my girlfriend to refuse delivery, which she did.
I don't want your flowers, you morons.
Oh, and you should have heard the conversation I had with the local delivery person the following day. After asking me why I wanted to refuse the delivery, he gives me some spiel about how his drivers "endangered their lives" driving through the bad weather and that if it were him, he'd get flowers to his woman no matter what, even if they were late. He has the gall to give me a lecture on how I treat my girl? Wow. Just wow.
It's unfortunate that so many of us have had similar experiences with the company. I wonder about the "99.7% customer satisfaction rate" that Bloomex advertises on their return policy page.
I'm currently scheduled to receive a full refund for my order. We'll see if/when that happens.

I have very terrible experience with Bloomex Flowers too.
I ordered roses for my gf, delivered on Feb 13. They delivered in that evening but my gf wasn't home. She got a note hanging at the door so she called them on the next day (Feb 14). They said they would deliver in the evening but the delivery didn't happen.
Okay...The weather was terrible and I would understand that. Then I contacted their on-line operator the next day (Feb 15). The operator Fely said: "I have tracked your order and it is on truck 113 it is still to arrive they should be there shortly." I told them nobody would be home until 6pm and he said they would deliver from 6-9pm. I thought it was still better than no roses for Valentine’s. The delivery, however, did not happen again and my gf was home waiting the second night.
Okay...They didn't deliver what they said they would so I wanted to have my order cancelled and obtain a refund. On Feb 16, after spending over two hours to contact an on-line operator, I finally got a hold of Fely at noon and he said they would investigate my case and someone would contact me within 48 hours.
Okay…I guess I would wait and see but nobody got back to me after two days thus I called them on Feb 21. They said they would look into this again and got back to me (..what??)
I called the next day again. This time they said they had issued a refund to me on Feb 16. I thought what a surprise. They didn’t tell me the day before about the refund when I called and now I got a refund that was issued six days ago.
Today I still didn't see the refund in my credit card account thus I called them again. This time they told me a different story. They said the roses were probably delivered to my gf's neighbours since she wasn't home, and asked if my gf had talked to her neighbours to see if they got her roses. Are you kidding me? After calling their office a few times and waited for over a week, this is the nonsense I got from Bloomex Flowers? They lied, never got back to me when they said they would, and refused to issue a refund for the service that simply they did not deliver. What kind of nonsense is this??
I never had such bad experience with any stores that I have shopped before. If I knew that’s the way they do business, I would never buy from them, especially for such special occasion.

An update, if anyone cares...
Bloomex is still "investigating" the order. Apparently they don't know if the driver brought the flowers back or not.
I'm on the phone with Visa as we speak. I don't know what the grounds for a chargeback are, but I'm about to find out. This is truly ridiculous.
