I had a whole bunch of drama with my toolbar a few months ago and ultimately emailed freecause about it. Here is the pertinant part of their response (bolding mine):
> We apologize for the issues you are experiencing! Your searches are definitely being tracked and credit is always being received. We think your toolbar may not be "bound" to your user account. Please login to my.freecause.com, go to "My Toolbars" in the navigation at the top. Make sure the toolbar that you are using has its organization's stats displayed. If this already is the case then please respond back and we'll look at other options.
Given that I had never logged into freecause before, this was madly confusing. Ultimately, I managed to register and sign into freecause and that actually fixed it. How the toolbar had been calculating searches for me before, when my account was apparently "unbound", I don't know, but that may be what is happening to you.
Also, if you are using the macro with a newer version of the toolbar, your searches are not being recorded, period. (see previous posts on this, starting around page 37)
My toolbar is working fine since that weird blip the other day. But I'm afraid to change user accounts now so I'll have to get my 300 in before I let anyone else here get started on their 300.

I registered for freecause, and it made my toolbar go back to 0 searches.
ETA: I think freecause logged me out of the toolbar. I logged in again and my searches are back.Last edited by CCCC3333; Aug 6th, 2009 at 12:06 AM.

Did you look to see how many searches you have recorded at freecause? If you have searches recorded there, it shouldn't be a problem.
I've had plenty of issues where it says 0 on the toolbar and the next day it's ok.
If you have searches recorded at freecause, and the tool bar is not ok tomorrow, email freecause support.

why are you emailing Freecause?? Airmiles toolbar just used Freecauses' services or something (previously, before the new toolbar, not sure if the new Toolbar is freecause) but it has nothing to do with Freecause, it's airmiles who is issuing the miles...

buddhababy-- thanks for the tip to email freecause-- the toolbar would randomly log me out, and my toolbar wasn't counting any of my searches. They got back to me within a few days and now it works fine.
here's the email they sent, in case it can help someone.
We apologize for the trouble you're experiencing. To fix this, let’s uninstall and then reinstall the Air Miles CA toolbar.
To uninstall in Internet Explorer, go to Start ->
Program files -> Toolbar -> Uninstall
To uninstall in Firefox, go to Tools -> Add-ons ->
Select the toolbar and press uninstall
Now, let's clear out any association between you and the
toolbar.
In Firefox, go to
Tools --> Clear Private Data --> Select Cookies and Authenticated
Sessions and clear those. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools --> Options --> Main Tab -->
Delete in the Browsing History Section--> Clear the Temporary Internet Files
and Cache.
To install the toolbar, go here:
https://www.airmiles.ca/arrow/ToolbarInstall
(Please, disable your anti-virus software during
installation and make sure that you have cookies enabled)
Before you click login, please go to the Air Miles CA
website and log in with your account number and PIN
(http://www.airmiles.ca/arrow).
Now, click login on the toolbar and present any login credentials that
the toolbar may ask you for.
As soon as you see any of your own statistics displayed
on the toolbar, you will know that the toolbar is working and functioning
properly.
We hope that uninstalling/installing will help you out.
Yours,
FreeCause
