Well its been 3 years since I created this thread and the ticket was never paid. They did send me a letter saying it will goto collections 2.5 years ago but I just ignored it and that was the last time I heard from them. Credit report is clean.

This is true. I know they had this issue in Stanley Park in Vancouver and it made the news. I wonder how much they lost in parking revenue when people heard that.

I just got a mail from IMPARK that i got a ticket on June 23rd on a private lot for parking on restricted lot or parking area.

I did not see the ticket on my car that day. And I am pretty sure I did not park on the wrong spot. And it is 70 dollars. I am in vancouver, should I pay this ticket?

in the letter, it states that if unpaid, they will send it to collections company. And they claim " our right to claim this amount has been confirmed by a Canadian federal court of appeal decision."

i am very concerned if it will damage my credit rating if unpaid. How can they know my address just by my license plate number?

Did you read any part of this thread??
And about your address. Of course they can get your address from your plate number.

Wow! an angle that might actually work - would work for my daily driver, but not my collector's plated car.

I must consider this $18 expense.
That's what a friend of mine did back in university. Literally parked anywhere he wanted whenever he wanted around campus. Got ticketed average 3 times a month, at which point he would change his license plate for $20. Anything more than 3 tickets would result in being towed.

Basically $20 parking a month with no restrictions on where to park, where normally a monthly parking pass would cost $100.

(I'm am in no way suggesting you do this as you might risk being towed)

Does anyone know if this goes for other provinces as well, I live in saskatoon and have 2 Impark tickets and they said they want me to pay them $127. I told them to send me an invoice and I'll decide.

Anyone with any legal background reading such a statement would just laugh.

Private civil disputes do not end up in "federal court of appeal".

If Imperial Parking wants to collect the $70 from you, let them spend hundred of $ first on legal, collection, admin, etc.

Don't Pay !

**** them, don't pay it! They have no proof that you actually received the ticket... ;)

Read all the Impark parking related messages with lot of interest.
The reason I am posting a new question now is that on my "Rental Car" from National, I got an "expired ticket" Parking notice for 69 dollars ... 37 if paid in 7 days.

I read on another forum that Rental companies charge to my Credit Card.. the fine + admin fees if Impark goes to them. Is this true ? Can I avoid coughing up this money ?
Thanks in advance !
