"And unsolicited calls will continue to be permitted from charities, political parties, pollsters, newspapers seeking subscriptions and companies with which customers have existing business relationships."
Most of the telemarketers calling me are companies with which I have an "existing business relationship" -- credit card companies, phone companies, etc.

Would you sign up for a Do Not Call list to screen out telemarketers?
Yes 95%
No 5%
Total Votes for this Question: 521
This is from the Toronto Sun.
I am one of the 95%.
I even have a message on my phone that says, I am not interested if you are a telemarketer, please do not call again.
Think that stops them?

well considering the vast majority of telemarketers are running out of automated call centers and machines can detect answering machines and they just label your call as an answering machine then no I don't think that would stop them in the slightest.
It's a real shame they felt newspapers should be allowed to call you_______________

The new Panasonic 6.0 cordless phones have a call block features. It works, 1 short ring, and the call is disconnected.
